Really cool spot near University Of Michigan Ann Arbor campus... Fans of Miyazaki will love the theming, but the food is just as... delicious! They had some really amazing Dons and the signature Totoro Tower didn't disappoint as a savory delicious option! Ifyou like sushi this restaurant is highly recommended! I came here expecting a hole in the wall sushi restaurant with average sushi and was so glad to be wrong. What I instead found... was a themed restaurant that would turn out to be an excellent dining experience. As a fan of Studio Ghibli films, it was niceto see a two mediums that I love, cooking and anime, come together. I ordered an oishii roll, my partner ordered a salmon skinroll, we split a tuna tower with and an order of takoyaki. One of the first things that I noticed about them is that they havereally good plating for sushi, orchids were a very good choice to bring out a pop of color. The texture and flavor of thetakoyaki was impressive, where often times people overcook them, the cooks at Totoro nailed it each time I ordered it, thesubtle crunch before getting to the soft center made the takoyaki to die for. Whenever I order sushi I have to try at least onepiece of sashimi, so I had the fatty tuna. The flavor was excellent and the cut was generous. While the dining room got a bitloud, it was hard for me to focus on anything but the food.
