We've been wanting to try this local establishment ever since seeing them on PBS's "Under The Radar Michigan (UTR)." Being a... "bar burger" connoisseur, I was excited to try their burger which was voted the #1 burger in Livingston County. Our food arrivedin a timely manner, but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype. I ordered their cheddar bacon burger deluxe, and it tastedlike it was a frozen, pre-made pattie. The burger toppings were very sparce as well. The tomato (singular) was sliced very thin, the single, thin piece leaf of lettuce on the burger was no bigger than the bun and if I had more than one piece of bacon on myburger I'd be surprised. Others in our group had similar comments about their meals. We left our waitress a nice tip, but wouldhave liked to see her check on us at least once between serving our food and giving us the bill. My wife, Grandson and I stopped at Champs for lunch today, October 27th. The man waiting on our table didn't even bother to... stop periodically to see if we needed anything. We had to ask over and over again, for a total of at least 4 times for refillson our coffee and ice tea. I also had to ask for our bill at least 3 times. After asking for the bill the first 2 times, ourwaiter took 2 other tables drink orders. He finally brought the bill after I had asked for the 3rd time. To top it all off, whenI finally did get the bill, there was a charge for liquor that we never ordered. We used to go to Champ's every so often forlunch and dinner. But, I don't think we will be spending our hard earned money there anymore. Read more

Really like going here for a burger and 9/10 times it?s amazing. i know sometimes before holidays they close early?call up at... 630? to confirm closing time the day Sunday before Labor day? (usually 10 or 11 pm close) and am told grills already closedclosed at 7?.then hung up on without any time for a thank you, or response from me? Pretty rude. If you?re that busy you can?ttake 2 seconds for a response, maybe closing early isn?t the right call? Maybe the person answering the phone worked open toclose? either way not exactly inviting. Hadn?t been to Champs in years, decided to meet a friend there for lunch on recently. We both ordered the fish & chips, which... the menu claimed they were famous for. The fish was way over cooked?..almost brown in color, my sweet potato fries were alsowell done. The server only came back to give us our bill; she never checked on us or asked how our meals were. They were notgood, and we will not be coming back. I highly suggest the cook watch when frying; seems like he was distracted. I have neverhad fish so overcooked and honestly feel like we should have been compensated?it was that bad. Very disappointed Champs!! Read more
