We stopped by here in a Tuesday around 7:15 pm and were seated immediately outdoors. They don't take reservations. They have... both indoor and outdoor seating. We had the kaboconut soup, spicy sashimi salad, wagyu meatballs, and omakase box. Overall, wewere very underwhelmed with all of the food. The kaboconut soup tasted like squash soup with a bit of spice. The spicy sashimisalad was incredibly over dressed and the sashimi looked like it was the left over cuts of fish. The omakase box had a nicepresentation but the sashimi was just OK. The best thing we ate were the wagyu meatballs. They were served warm with 2 saucesand tasted good. The restaurant has nicely decorated, the staff was very friendly, and the service was nice. However, I wouldnot recommend coming here if you are looking for a more traditional sushi spot that really focuses on nigiri and sashimi. Thisplace feels like an Asian restaurant that happens to serve sushi. There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant which Iimagine fills up quickly during busier days/time. Read more

All I can say is Wow!!! Such a tremendous experience visiting this restaurant. It's a bit pricey but you get a lot for what... you order. It's a very comfortable environment with friendly people. The food, oh my goodness... it was truly amazing and Isay this as a culinary artist. I ordered the deluxe sushi and I couldn't believe what I received -- just excellent. I wasexcited to know that they have a japanese beer there which was very difficult for me to find in many otherrestaurants/stores. Great job to the wait staff. Ate at the bar. Terrific appetizers of pork belly bao buns and baked green oysters. Omakase box was amazing!

Came on Mother’s Day and it was only a 20 minute wait. (Went to the grill down the street for a cocktail) The menu is large... and prices soooo reasonable! The bao buns were great, and the sushi fresh. Lovely time and even though they were swamped we gotgood service. Read more

The ambiance is beautiful, the location is great, close to the beach. The desserts are VERY good (+1 for having gluten free,... vegan or vegetarian outlined on the menu). The sushi, however, was mediocre. Not tightly rolled so would fall apart very easily,and it tasted a bit off. It also took us flagging down waitstaff (who apologized that no one had come to help us) to take ourorder after 30 minutes after being seated, and an additional 45 to bring the food to the table despite not being a time duringthe lunch or dinner rush. I do recommend their desserts or if you like a relatively upscale restaurant, but it's not veryauthentic sushi with a price and you may be here waiting around for an hour or two. Read more

Great first time dining experience. The atmosphere is warm n quaint, especially the covered patio dining with heaters. The menu... choices are great. The sushi rolls presentation was as tasty as the actual sushi flavors. The kitchen menu with beef slices onhot plate at the table was both tasty and entertaining. The garlic edamame and gyoza were both tasty appetizers. It wasimpressive to see not only a Sake and wine list but also a whiskey list on the menu. The service was very professional nfriendly. Emily was a great server who answered all our questions with patience and a smile. She was on top of it and made ourdining experience a plus. We will definitely return to Blue Ocean for more pleasant dinners and I will recommend this place toothers. Read more

The food was beyond delicious. My favorite was the chef specialty tempura roll. We sat at the sushi bar and the chef was very... accommodating he made us a special roll that was absolutely wonderful. He even suggested a few things from the menu that werealso very good. I would say that sitting at the bar our server only checked on us once. She didn’t top off our water or evencome around to see if we needed anything else. However the food was so good I won’t let the poor attentiveness from our serveraffect the rating. It was a busy Saturday night and we hardly waited for food and didn’t wait to get seated. Over all I wouldcertainly come back again and recommend to friends and family. Read more
