I really went back and forth on how to evaluate this restaurant because the food was pretty good, but the overall situation was... a total mess. I made a reservation weeks in advance to bring a customer out to dinner so I specifically booked an outdoor table. To be perfectly fair, we had 6 people instead of 5 when we arrived a couple of minutes before our reservation time on aWednesday night in October, but the table wasn?t even close to ready. We sat at the bar for 25 minutes before I finally walkedover to the hostess table. The hostess was so busy that she couldn?t even look my way, so the manager finally noticed me and Iexplained the situation. They sat us at a booth that probably did fit 5 people decently, but it was SO tight for 6 that wecouldn?t even open menus. We sat there waiting for at least 15 minutes before a waiter came over and ask d me what I wanted todrink, for appetizers, and main course. So basically, he had no time for us to order courses as we went. Poor guy was sooverwhelmed he couldn?t even come back for drinks and food separately. Eventually I brought ip to the hostess that there weremultiple open tables and asked to combine them to give us more space but she said they can?t combine tables?what? Then we founda larger table but the waiter was annoyed we were moving so we were asked to carry our our silverware and appetizer plates tothe new table because they were too overwhelmed. Long story short, the food was decent but the situation was a nightmare Read more

Serea was the perfect location for a special dinner while in San Diego. Located on the beach at the historic Hotel Del Coronado.... Best Greek salad I have had outside of Athens. The sea bass was delicious and the Message in a bottle dessert was so fun andyummy! Read more

Unbeatable location/view and actually exceptionally nice food and service. Maybe we ordered well or got lucky, but we had a... fabulous meal. Whole grilled rock cod was fresh, juicy, and very finely seasoned (not over salted!). Sides of patatas bravas androasted peppers were lovely and substantial portions. Greek salad was amusingly small but well seasoned with good ingredients.Sorbet was lovely. If you're concerned about price stick to the whole grilled fish and sides and skip salads and drinks andbigger desserts. Not cheap, but I think reasonable for the location, service, and most importantly food if you order smart. Read more

Probably the best dinner I?ve had in a very long time. Located in the already idilic Hotel Del Coronado, everything about Serea... embodies the class and charm one would expect of this establishment. We had the crispy Brussels, swordfish, steak, shrimp, andsalmon - all were mind blowing in taste and presentation. I think we tried the entire beverage selection and everyone foundseveral to enjoy, every item we ordered was astoundingly good. A perfect place for the last dinner of our lengthy work trip tocelebrate all that we accomplished. Will be dreaming of this place for sure. Read more

I had a VERY hard time with the stars on this one. Came here last Friday for our anniversary dinner. Ambiance, setting and... service is wonderful. You are near the Windsor lawn with nice ocean views. Definitely a romantic date spot. There was heatlamps all over to help with the slightly chilly weather. Service is top notch. Our server Mark, is on point. The chairsweren't the most comfortable, at least for my table. My back cushion kept falling between the gap on the chair. Our tablewobbled slightly. For a $$$$ place, it shouldn't be doing that. Moving on to food. Ordered a cocktail called Lei Low. It waspretty, and tasted good, more ice than I wanted though. My daughter had the kids pasta with butter. She hated it. I felt theportion was small. For appetizer, we had the Baja Kampachi (sashimi). It was good. Our entree was 2lbs of the sea bass. I likedthe flavor, however, it was a bit dry and could use some dipping sauce. Hate to say this, but its something my mom easily doesat home, and her fried fish legitimately tasted exactly like this. Sides were Patatas Bravas, just okay. And greek fries (notmy idea, who orders fries at a fine dining place, but I guess we do) and definitely less than okay. I wish I had tried thevegetable paella, instead. We toyed with ordering dessert, but decided against it, as I have a feeling I would have beendisappointed. Our bill came out to well over $200 with tip. So I had been toying with 3 stars for this place because I feltthe food didn?t reflect the price point. But when it comes down to it, the experience, the setting and the service wasimpressive to me. Would I come back to dine here again? Probably not. However, I am glad I did experience it. Read more

Had a lovey date night here! We sat in their beautiful outside seating (with heat-lamps). It was so lovely to enjoy the view of... the Hotel Del Coronado accompanied by the ocean. Our dinner started off with a lovely house cocktail, then a delicious grilledoctopus, and finally our entrees. Staff was courteous and attentive. Food was delicious. Definitely recommend! Read more

Food was just OK, Ambiance just OK, prices were out of this world high for what I had, Service was great. When I got up to take... a break, I came back to cleaned area with new napkins - A nice touch. Being at the Hotel Del was awesome. I had Calamari -very salty, Greek Salad - very salty, Grilled Swordfish - excellent, Apple Caramel Puff desert - excellent, 9 Oz Zinfandel wine- just OK & way overpriced @$29 Peligrino water. With tip, just over $200. Crazy to pay that much for dinner, of course unlessits for special occasions. It was a special day for me. Read more
