Great Middle Eastern place. My wife had the falafel plate, which she said was delicious. I had the beef Kefta (kefta kebab)... plate, which came with onions sprinkled with salt and sumac, mixed with a bit of parsley (classic accompaniment), grilledtomato, pita wedges, excellent saffron rice topped with almonds and golden raisins, excellent pickled turnips, pita wedges and aside dish of your choice (I chose tabouli). All this for less than $11!. We all agreed it was these little authentic touchesthat set this place apart. That, and the side dishes. Between us we had: hummus, their Mediterranean salad. their Greek salad, and Tabouli (x 2). All were excellent, with the exception of the Tabouli, which was a bit soggy. All in all, very good quality, very generous portions for an excellent price. Clean, bright place. Friendly, attentive staff. We got cheese filled pastries, kuba and chicken boreg for a picnic dinner this evening. Expect those to be excellent as well. Will update this review ifnot. Chicken boreg was quite good. Cheese pie was excellent. Cracked wheat kuba: filling was fine. Coating was different thanwhat I expected. I have always had (and made) kuba/koubi/koubeh covered with a "dough" made of ground beef mixed with bulgurwheat. This appeared to be a dough of bulgur wheat mixed with flour. Not as crispy as the other method. Leftover falafel fromlunch reheated just fine, as did they beef kufta. Read more

One of the top four or five best Middle Eastern food restaurants I?ve ever been to & I love middle eastern food. They serve... primarily Iraqi food with a Lebanese flair. Turkish influenced & Iranian influence as well. Everything here is delicious youcan?t go wrong. The staff is always pretty busy not necessarily the friendliest but very efficient, no nonsense. No way this 4 star plus food. I guarantee the food is not fresh... it is mostly reheated. It does not taste fresh. The fries... are weird ... like you would get at a Rallys. I felt sick after eating there. Very nice staff though. A lot of potentialhere... but I think they are trying to stream line cooking and it shows. Read more

My favorite place for to go food for quite awhile. I?ve tried many plates. Most often, the combination plate with great beef... Kabobs and chicken. The yellow rice is awesome. Have taken to the beet salad after many orders of the mid eastern salad. Fastservice and my pickup orders have never been wrong. Read more

Wow! I bookmarked this eatery from the activity log on Yelp and, I'm so glad I did! The food at the Sahara was fantastic and so... were each and every employee. We had the chicken kabob with saffron rice, Greek salad, cheese flat bread, beef middle eastern'egg rolls', and, potato curry soup. Wow! all the dishes were delicious and we walked out of there carrying our stomachs! Wedefinitely will be regulars! Read more

I highly recommend the beef shawarma plate! Very glad that this place has opened their doordash reach to our part of the... neighborhood. It's a bit pricey but the portions are generous. Compared to other Middle Eastern places in San Diego, their foodis not underwhelmingly dry. I would definitely order from here again. Read more
