We took the backroad to the coast, and found this gem amoungst a series of farmers market stands. We stopped because it was an... actual dairy farm with fresh ice cream (is there any other reason)? The ice cream and milkshake were very creamy and delicious. There is both indoor and outdoor seating (although the outdoor seating had lots of flies). There also is a small toileton-site. The ice cream here is very tasty! I got a banana split and it is big enough for two people. The strawberry flavor had chunks of... strawberries ???? We have passed this place many times on the way back from the beach and always wanted to try it. So glad wedid and will definitely visit again! Read more
This is always a "must stop" going to and from the beach. The ice cream is so fresh and there are so MANY flavors to choose... from. And the prices are unbelievable. I always go for a milkshake with whatever flavor combo I pick, because it's easier toconsume while driving. 5-stars ALL DAY! Read more
This great ice cream destination is very handy if you're going to the beach, it is on the way. They have probably 40 flavors of... homemade ice cream. You can order 2 flavors & can get a float, a sundae, cone or cup. They also have a clean nice restroom nextto big refrigerators with juice, butter milk & other offerings. The ice cream is the star here & deserably so. Easy to order atthe counter, & then they call your name when your order is ready at the far end of the counter at the left. Clean, &accommodating young people serve. Nice place, I never miss going there & I I look forward to stopping on the way home. Read more
20211022 Yeah!! They are open!! Oh my, this Creamery gets pretty busy. They sell jar items, candles, soap, coolers, t-shirts,... sweatshirts, cheese, milk, pies, cakes, diggie donuts and baked goods. Their ice cream serving is HUGE!! One scoop is more like2 scoops at most creameries I have been to, about 40+ up and down the East Coast. Most of their flavors are not what I usuallyget. Their cherry ice cream is both red and black cherries. I got the strawberry and mint chip (half and half = scoop). Iappreciate that they offer half and half since I don't eat a lot of Ice cream in 1 setting, and half half gives me the variety Ineed to eat more at 1 setting. Might need to let the rest melt and drink it like milkshake. The ice cream has a niceconsistency, but needs more filling... chocolate chips, strawberry pieces, etc... I rather get a smaller potion of ice cream andget more filling... just got home... doggie Donut smelled so good - peanut butter, but when I tried to pick it up, it broke,crumbled. So disappointed. My finicky pups don't want it. OH well. 20211019 So disappointed!! I have been wanting to try theirice cream. Finally made a trip to the beach... and they are closed due to staffing. Since my arrival, at least 5 cars drove up,looked and drove away... likely with the same disappointment I have. At least I spotted a couple of cows. Stopped at Vanderwende Farm Creamery on the way home from the beach. It's a nice place to stop. It breaks up the trip. I had a... milkshake with mint chocolate chip, peanut butter swirl, and cherry ice cream. It was very tasty with plenty of delicious mintchocolate chips. The cherry ice cream wasn't flavourful enough to be tasted. Those of you who like cherry ice cream should getit in scoops rather than in shakes. The shake was thick and delicious.
