This restaurant is located inside the hotel. Our group came for dinner around sunset. We chose to eat outside. The views of the... beach and ocean are amazing! The ambiance is very nice. Our appetizers were so delicious. I ordered the lobster tacos, Ican't say anything good enough to describe them. The beans and rice were ok, but nothing special. This place is kinda priceythough. Walking down La Jolla shores and stopped by for an impromptu brunch. Food was yummy, service was nice (they let us sit even... though we were definitely dressed too casual coming right off the beach), and everything was quick for a Saturday at 1pm. Lotsof fun cocktail options as well. Read more
We walked down from the Birch Aquarium in November in hopes of finding dinner with a view on the spur of the moment, and we had... a wonderful evening here. I was mostly motivated to come here for the location, sitting and staring at the sunset during dinner was enchanting. But the... food was actually really great — we had the Mexican corn and the watermelon salad which was bigger than I expected, it had agenerous pile of arugula which is my favorite green. Shores Restaurant is located inside the La Jolla Shores Hotel. It is right on the beach with a beautiful view of the ocean. If... you can't find street parking, they have parking in their underground garage, which was easy to find. The restaurant willvalidate to give you free parking in the first 90 minutes. After that, it's $10 for the next 90 minutes and goes up from there.I think they should validate for 2 hours, like most restaurants do, but that's more of a hotel thing, I think. I made areservation for 8 of my coworkers for a happy hour get together (they only have actual happy hour deals Monday-Thursday and wewent on a Friday... oops!) and 6 showed up, and most showed up late. No problem! They had a table ready for us on their patiowith a view of the ocean. Cherry was our server and she was fantastic! She was attentive and super friendly. I had a passionfruit mule, which was delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their drinks. For food, some had dinner plans so didn't want toeat too much, others didn't... Cherry and the restaurant were able to accommodate everyone's needs perfectly. Two in the partyordered off the kids menu to get a smaller portion, one ordered the beet salad, one ordered a burger, one the triple deckersandwich (she took half of it home for lunch the next day!), and I ordered the butternut squash ravioli. We also were able toorder a side of fries for the table. Everything came out perfectly and everyone was pleased with their orders. I'd love to goback on a weekday (not Friday) to experience their actual happy hour. It was a very nice experience, good atmosphere, excellentview - we even saw dolphins from our table! I came here to experience the beach, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this restaurant. They had happy hour going on. The... tuna pictured below was amazing. It was well seasoned and flavorful. The happy hour special was decently priced at $7 which wasa real treat. The fries although sliced a little bigger than I preferred, they were delicious as well. The view of the ocean wasnice as well.
