My Wife and I had the best meals in a while. Everything was super fresh and delicious!! George, the Owner?, was so friendly and... walks the floor making everyone comfortable and sure we all are satisfied. The staff as well. They are on point, withsmiles. Athena Gyro restaurant Lagrangeville N.Y. If your ever in town try this grecian decor. Food is very traditional and reminds me... of Athens. Platter's souvlaki (like kabobs), chicken,tuna,swordfish pork,shrimp, grilled to perfection, comes with rice orfrench fries, (regular or feta ),pita,greek salad, crispy green romaine lettuce,cucumber, feta,kalamata olive,tomato,bellpeppers with house special dressing. Calamari was a bit overdone, chewy but tasty,gyro meat delicious, tender. Lamb shank steww/orzo celery,carrots and light tomatoes extremely tender,delicious, grilled salmon, rice and saute broccoli w/ garlic wassuperb. Expresso and homemade cookies topped the palette. ATHENA Gyro gives big portions, unlike the other Greek restaurant inKingston leaves you hungry,but ATHENA your leaving satisfied until the next visit. Food was FANTASTIC!! Loved it! However we did feel rushed, we arrived probably at 8:30 p.m. They closed at 10, by 9:30 p.m. we... could feel them kinda rushing us out and by 9:45 it was really bad, like way obvious lol. So next time, I'd go much earlier... Read more
Very authentic Greek food. First time there so we ordered a platter with a sampling of different typical Greek dishes and... desserts. Enjoyed every bit of it and there was enough leftovers to snack on. Read more
The side salad that came with my platter was delicious and very fresh--and big enough to be a meal on its own. The ionic... platter was super tasty too and I got 2 more meals from the leftovers! Excellent coffee too! The food brought back memories ofvisiting Greece. Read more
Just made it in for last call for food. On the way home to nyc, we are so glad we bumped into this clean, well run, very... reasonably priced Greek spot - they have lots of great vegetarian options and the lemon potatoes were awesome. Thecomplimentary side salad was also a big portion - big enough for 2! They also had wheat pita which is always good to have as anoption and apparently they have gluten free too. We had the 4 spread dip combo plate and the vegetarian stuffed tomato andgreen pepper and it left us stuffed (no pun intended). The owner and the server were really friendly and welcoming as well.
