Loved the outdoor seating set up. Sitting outside in nice weather is always a big plus. The service was great and I enjoyed most... of my food. I'll definitely have to come back and try some other things on the menu. The side plates and side sauces areintriguing for sure. Read more

High quality food w nice ambience. The house Sambal is a must. Careful, the Hakka spicy noodles have some serious kick which... kinda disrupted the whole experience. The fried chicken (w/ the salted egg yolk) is quite rich and done well. I was in between4-5 stars but I think I just ordered wrong. Recommend and will return! Read more

Made reservations through Google and oh so convenient.Absolutely loved everything about this place. The food was phenomenal, the... service was outstanding and the ambiance was great. The vibe is chic and casual. I would definitely give it more stars if Icould. We ordered chicken sate, char kway teow, curry noodle soup, and chicken curry. They adjusted to our dietary needs. Wealso ordered the soup spicy but when it came, it was way too spicy for us. So we told them that we messed up, but they didn’thesitate to say they will have the chef remake it. It was really really nice of them. They have a few types of seating- Indoor, communal, high top and patio. Read more

Great food, exceptional experience, highly recommended. Food was delicious and we even had leftovers, though we only ordered 1... appetizer & 2 entrees. The fried chicken was so good!! I'd go back just for that. Drinks were interesting and even though weended up with the wrong one, our server did a great job of fixing that for us! Read more

This restaurant has been on my list for quite some time now especially since its been added to Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand for... 2021. The DMV has been missing a quality Malaysian place since Penang closed in Bethesda years ago. I made reservations earlierin the week for a large party. Due to the new DC covid restrictions you do have to show your ID and vaccine card when dininghere. Some of the dishes we ordered were Char Kway Teow, eggplant, chicken/tofu satay, Nasi Lemak, spicy hakka noodles, and thebeef rendang. Wow flavors here were on point! My favorite was the rendang. Slow roasted meat, tender cuts and plenty of spicesfeatured in this dish. Even after taking this home and eating it as a leftover there was still so much flavor left. The skewersare a must order with their peanut sauce. Definitely order any of the chicken dishes. The huge piece that we had reminded me ofthe amusement park turkey leg. Plenty of food for 4 people. The noodles were perfect. I loved the Char Kway because you getgreat cuts of the Chinese pork sausage, flat noodles and the flavors from the oyster sauce were delicious. The hakka noodles isgreat dish if you love textures. You can't go wrong with a runny egg, fried shallows, minced beef and cabbage all over a bowl offresh noodles. The Michelin guide definitely got their list right with Makan. There is an automatic charge of 22 % and even withthat for +6 dishes my meal came out to under $40. Portion side here is no joke. Usually restaurants are stingy with their rice, but we got large portions of rice per entree. Service here is a great as our server knew all of the speciality items and spicelevels. You get high food quality, service and at a great value here. I'll definitely be back to try their roti canai anddesserts! Read more
