After having had a Tahini's experience at their Pickering location I was eager to have it again at their Oshawa location which... recently opened. More or less the experience was the same but I do have to comment on how large and open the Oshawa locationis. It's very nice and welcoming. The menu boards are easy to read even with a group full of people ahead of you. Today Iordered the chicken shawarma wrap and decided on "old school" toppings and medium level of hot sauce. The food did notdisappoint. I find the chicken to have a nice flavour and the flavours of the pickled vegetables really is evident when takingbites out of the wrap. It tastes fresh and delicious. I have to comment on the wrap itself. It is just a great bread product. Very tasty. Has a great crunch to it after spending a small amount of time getting toasted. It's definitely the decidingfactor over why I'd choose dining at Tahini's over other similar food joints. Read more
Went here the other day to grab some lunch and was very pleased. I'm not originally from the area and miss some of my old fav... shawarma places. Saw this place had recently opened and was very happy with the quality and freshness of the food. Good servingfor a fair price. Although spicy 'hot' here in Durham is not the same as 'HOT' in Scarborough. Really enjoyed the food. Onlyreason I didn't give 5 stars is that your order does take a bit of time. I spent more than 40 minutes here to get a single order. Believe me this was not the first time I had this experience twice.... They kept taking orders but not bothering about making them. There is a guy with beard slim built, he doesn't care aboutcustomers. He just wander around the kitchen, all three guys are very slow. If you see good reviews here that means they askscustomers to leave good review on Google. Please try avoid go to this location to save time. Read more
Been eating at Tahinis since it was associated with Barakat in London, Ontario. This location is the most disappointing so far.... Complete lack of customer service; I felt like a ghost while in there. Got my order wrong, and on top served me a large servingof fries at half portion. Whitby location is a million times better. I've tried Tahini's before at some other location and I've absolutely enjoyed eating their fresh bowls. My absolute favorite are... their Shawn chicken bowl and Habibi bowl. However when we ordered our favorites for the first time from this location we wereseverely disappointed with the quality of the food. We ordered their Shawn chicken, jerk chicken bowl, Habibi bowl and shawarmabowl. For each bowl the rice was overcooked, there were no differences between the shawarma and Shawn chicken bowl. At otherlocations the difference is visible to the eye and is different to taste as well. The salad didn't seem fresh either. Thechicken tasted weird and oily and exactly the same for each dish as well. It all seemed like it had been prepared hastily. Otherlocations take some time to make these bowls for us but at this place they just banged it out without putting any thought intoit. This whole experience was very disappointing. I decided to give Tahinis a shot on their grand opening day to take advantage of their 50% discount. They were busy! But they... had an efficient system and the wait wasn?t too long after ordering. The atmosphere is nice if you choose to dine in. My foodwas flavourful and they provided a lot of chicken in my Butter Chicken Bowl. My personal opinion was that the chicken was alittle too jiggly for me and lots of pieces with connective tissue, which took away from the overall enjoyment. However, theportion size is generous and the rice, toppings and sauce were flavourful. I would good back to try a different bowl with adifferent protein when I get the next protein & rice craving. Absolutely delicious. I loved my meal. Each spoonful was a hit back to back. The food was absolutely a delight to eat up until... the last bite. I had been to Tahini's in Pickering before but this one in Oshawa had more options. I recommend Tahini's. Youshould try their meals. I wasn't disappointed. Read more
