This was one of my best omakase experiences. Chef Keith is a pro and obsesses over serving highest quality fish. He is very... creative with is menu and engaging with customers. He explains each piece of sushi and some backstory while serving. Can?trecommend this place enough. You have to book in advance. Worth the price. Read more

An authentic and superb omakase experience in the suburbs of PoCo. They import fresh seafood weekly and the menu changes... depending on what they get in that week. You have to call in ahead of time to grab a seat but keep in mind that they only takeabout 5 tables per day. You can tell that the chef is very passionate about his food and it shows in every piece of his sushi.I especially enjoyed engawa - a flat fish that is quite rich and oily - it almost dissolves in your mouth! The bluefin tunaswere also exceptional - both o-toro and chu-toro - but I would say that there were no pieces that I disliked throughout theomakase. I can't believe that I only found this gem after living in the lower mainland for over 15 years but I will be comingback in the near future for more amazing sushi. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants authentic Japanese omakaseexperience with quality ingredients without travelling all the way to downtown Vancouver. Read more

Our omakase dinner last night was super tasty! We made the reservation over the phone a week in advance, and the staff kindly... asked for the price range we wanted to experience. Although she says their customers usually go for $100-$120 pp, we opted foran $80 pp experience and it was just fine! The omakase was 10 pieces of nigiri, with a miso soup break in the middle. Chef Kexplained that he imports all the fish he serves directly from Japan, and he also prepares his own soy sauce with differentflavours which he puts on the fish. We thought every piece was tasty, different, flavourful, fresh, and at the righttemperature! Chef K came over to say his thanks at the end of our experience and served us complimentary plum wine?a sweet wayto end the meal! Tbh this place was a bit far and out of my way, but will revisit again on special occasions! Read more

My favourite new sushi place in Victoria. The staff are very kind and courteous, and the food is always top notch. Consistency... between orders is very good and makes me confident that my order will be as enjoyable as the last. Great prices, expansiveselection, and pleasant staff whether you're eating-in or taking-out. Read more

Quality food! This was my first omakase experience and it was wonderful. The delicate sushi, the wonderful server, and the... interactive chef...it was a great night! Every single dish was a new flavor and each came with a thorough explanation. I wish Ihad photos of the dishes, but they were too good to let sit for a photo. Fish were mostly from Japan and the prawns were fromNew Zealand last night. The metal/punk/alternative music was also refreshing. I wonder what their take out food is like. I willdefinitely be back to Kamizato! Read more

We?re from Ontario and came here to visit. My cousin had been raving about sushi K for years so I had to give it a try. This... was, honestly, the highlight of my trip and one of the best food experiences I?ve ever had. Keith (chef k) and his wife areabsolutely incredible. They created a comfortable, unassuming, unique environment where you have incredible sushi at the bar, listen to the heavy metal playing in the background, and get to learn about the different cuts of sushi from. It was sofun! Keith is an artist and takes pride in his work. Each piece of sushi is an experience in itself. Carefully put together tobalance the richness and flavour of the fish imported from Japan with his creativity. I cant recommend this enough. If you can,put a budget of ~$100, grab a seat at the bar, a bottle (or 3) of sake, and ask Keith about how he assembled each of the piecesand about the metal bands that have had listening parties here! Looking forward to seeing you the next time we?re in Vancouver,Keith :) - Tuba, Rahi, and Jasleen Read more
