Good bbq spot. I'd recommend it. 4/5 The ribs were super tender. The smoky flavor of the ribs and the wings were top notch. The... brisket was moist and flavorful. The appetizers were all good. Those hush puppies & deviled eggs were tasty! In addition, thebanana pudding was well executed. It had the right amount of sweetness and the texture was smooth and not overly thick. The waitservice was also friendly and attentive. The ribs were oversalted unfortunately. I have a salty palate and it was still quitenoticeable. It undermined the great effort it took to smoke the ribs. All of the ribs on our plates didn't have this issue sothis was either an anamoly or the seasoning may be inconsistent. The smoky chicken wings were stellar, but a bit small for theprice point. To be fair, many restaurants have had difficulty getting chicken wings because of the supply chain issues so theones we received may not be indicative of what is served during normal times. Finally, I was underwhelmed by my collard greensand mac and cheese. The latter felt both generic and pseudo-gourmet at the same time. Don't reinvent the wheel. We weren't fans.The collard greens were fair, but not bad. Overall, the quality of the appetizers, meats, and the banana pudding makesReverend's a required stop. Personally, I'd highly recommend the ribs, brisket, wings, deviled eggs, hush puppies and dessert.There was also a HUGE delicious looking bbq salad at our table that lasted all of 60 seconds. Had fantastic BBQ today from Reverends! The Brisket was melt in your mouth delicious and my husband and friend had a meat... platter with several options and a Sandwich and it was amazing! Will definitely be back to enjoy the best BBQ I have had sincemoving to Oregon!! Read more
This is one of my favorite places to eat. Usually everything is perfect. Unfortunately today I was served chicken with burnt... breading. Worse still, I ordered a whole pound of it. The chicken itself was cooked perfectly but the breading was too bitterand I ended up having to remove it. My heart is a little broken, but I will try again eventually. The food at this place was great. Went as a group of four and had the full rack of ribs, so meaty and tasty. I liked the sauce... on the ribs and what was offered at the table. I also got the reverend burger, which was made with burnt ends sooooooo good, italso had pimento cheese, pickles, and fried onion stings on it. That burger was amazing. And the fries that came with the burgerwere crunchy, has a nice saltiness to them but not over powering. The sliced brisket was juicy and the Mac and cheese was great.This place is awesome, friendly staff clean environment and I loved the touch of having a full paper towel roll on the wall nextto each table. First off, fantastic customer service to say the least. Great atmosphere around the restaurant. Now this is some of the best... BBQ I?ve ever had so far and it?s mainly because of the Brisket. The brisket is well cooked and beautifully salted on the fattyedges which creates a insane burst of flavour when you bite into it. The mac & cheese was a delightful addition, creamy withthe crunch from the chips was a good combo. Now I will say I was expecting more from the ribs as I felt they were a bitdry. All in all this is easily the best bbq I?ve had so far in the PNW. I?d recommend it to anyone travelling to Portland, Icertainly look forward to it on my next trip down! Read more
