This is a great place for lunch when you are in the Balboa Park area. I brought out of town friends here before spending the... afternoon in the zoo. The Guadalajara street corn is a go-to for me. The tacos are great. One of my friends is a picky eater andshe got the chicken quesadilla and said it was very good. So there should be something here for everyone. The street parkingright around it is paid but park on 6th on the park side and it’s is free parking there. Read more

I love the margarita flight! Definitely try the blackberry jalapeno, that's my favorite. I also ordered the taco trio with spicy... chicken, steak and salmon. All were tasty but i think I liked the chicken the best. Great outdoor and open air seating perfectfor nice days but it is a little on the pricy side. Read more

Really awesome experience visiting Barrio Star for an evening with friends in town. This place had awesome service and all the... ambiance we could ask for with a live steel drum performance. The food was all extremely high quality and tasted fresh, whichthe restaurant prides themselves on. Prickly pear margarita was great, as was the Chile relleno. Didn’t seem like you couldreally go wrong with any of the dishes. Will definitely be going back! Read more
The tacos were really really good. 5 dollars each on taco tuesday.... above average. However for the area, it was good enough... and they closed late. The steak taco was my favorite. I got another. Corn was burnt. Nachos are good. Margarita did more for myfriend than me. Read more
We came here expecting amazing food from reading the reviews and left disappointed. We got a table inside and there were TOO... many flies. We got the nachos to share, and I got the steak tacos (3) which comes with a side of beans and rice. The corntortilla was extremely thick which made it super dry. The steak did not have much flavour and tasted old. The spicy chickentacos weren’t any better. Definitely not worth $20…..for 3 disappointing ‘tacos’. Read more
