Ordered their famous Messy Sunday that they have been advertising on tv. What a disappointment. With the restaurant being nearly... empty, the desert took about 15 minutes to come out. Only half the glass had ice cream, the other half with whipping cream. Thewaiter was rude as well saying, ?That?s all you want?? Um yes, we came for your Sunday. That?s not a response to make to yourcustomer. What a shame. Read more

They didn't have enough staff to cover the diners seated, but kept seating more diners instead of having people wait for a... table. The lemon in my water had dirt on it. My Caesar salad was made with old lettuce most of which was the white part. Ourpizza was brought out with our salads and was cold and soggy. And don't get me started on the poor service or lack there of.Such a disappointment! Read more

We have gone here a few times over the years. They have updated the decor but in the end it is really just the same... place/service with higher prices. Oh - you may wonder why the pics are a weird color - that was the lighting at our table. Wewent on a Monday night and there were maybe 5-6 tables when we arrived. It took about 5 mins to have someone come over to tryand clean the sticky table - they tried using a hot rag because "the top layer of the table is coming off"...it was still stickyafter the wipe down. We finally ordered our food - all of which was good - but it took about 25 mins for the food to come out.And when it did come out the brought the tuna sandwich and kid's pizza and then left. My wife and I figured they would comeright back with our meals. Nope. It was another 2-3 mins and they brought out my wife's salad (which she asked for about 50%dressing but it was well over dressed). So I sat there while they ate - probably another 5-6 mins before my shrimp tacos cameout. Yeah, shrimp...takes about 5 mins on the griddle to cook -- but that plate was the last one out. My daughter was half waydone with her pizza and I hadn't started yet. Again, the food was all good - but $18.50 for shrimp tacos, $16.25 for an overdressed salad, and $9.50 for a kid's meal pizza? I know "times have changed" but man - it shouldn't cost $100 (also had a $15.25tuna sandwich, a glass of wine and 3 fountain drinks) for a family of 4 to eat out. And we were there for over an hour! Nexttime I'll just head over to Rubio's for their Shrimp Two Taco Plate for $11.49 -- better price, tastes just as good and I can bein and out under 20 mins. Read more

If 2.5 stars was available, that would be my selection. I really wanted Sammy's to be the same quality experience we had... regularly experienced, pre-pandemic times. On the positive side, our waiter (Keenan) was refreshing and very down to earth. Definitely not a polished waiter with years of experience but in return he seemed genuinely sincere in his mannerism and effortto meet our needs as guests. One of the meals of our party came out ten minutes after the others, and whether his fault or thekitchen's, he personally apologized and took blame as if it was his failure - although I question if it was really his faultversus that of the kitchen's. Now for the not so satisfying; We sat outside in the covered patio area, and the copious amountsof big, aggressive flies, and I mean a lot of them (3-5 flies per person), was intolerable. It literally ruined the entiredinner experience, and no stellar food quality could make up for the nuisance and feeling of disgust. Sammy's needs toacknowledge this problem and set some fans. It would at least take the edge off of this obvious problem. All the customerswe're waiving their napkins like horses swatting their tails at the stables. Second, the food quality was severely lacking andpossibly worse. The lettuce for the salad was clear-as-day, not fresh and borderline slimy. The chicken wings, while cooked toproper temperature, tasted as if the meat was approaching rotten. The same could be said for the chicken in the pita plate. It's been about three hours since eating there and I'm still knocking on wood that my stomach doesn't start a revolt. Insummary, I really liked the genuine demeanor of our waiter, and of course I liked my company (my family), however Sammy'sproduct (the food and ambiance) does not earn a passing grade (minus 2.5 stars). The two entrées we shared had full bodied aromas and were delightfully delicious especially when paired with a nice Chardonnay.... Wow! This was a surprise luncheon date with my lovely wife and I sure scored! We picked a table at the far end of therestaurant where the food emerges from the kitchen; it made our Server (Bella) much more accessible. When you come here to eat,ask for Bella; not only was she conversant and opinionated about everything on the menu, she checked on us VERY frequently, andshe always had an indefatigable and genuinely charming smile. I ordered the Mushroom Orzitto which had generous portions of wildmushrooms, mascarpone, truffle oil, and a huge dollop of tasty Romano; and it waft a wonderful aroma that said MANGIA! Please???????? The pizza here is oddly disappointing and not worth it for $16. Toppings are stingy and quality is something like one of those... fast pizza places. What's keeping this place 4 stars is that the other food on the menu are great. I've tried a few salads, tacos and pastas so far and they've been consistent. Can't forget the messy sundae also.
