Food was good, not traditional filipino flavors. Staff was great and attentive. Only thing keeping me from a five stars is that... the staff didn't wash their hands from looking on Ipad (chef) or ringing up people at the cash register. Both had a hand inpreparing the food for dine in and take out and there is an open kitchen where customers can watch everything. Again.. onlycomplaint. I would eat there again! Read more

I was extremely impressed by this establishment! The food was beyond delicious! The prices were extremely fair. The portions... were great. The atmosphere and staff were also great. They often have daily specials and this just adds creativity, on top ofeverything. There is not a better place for Filipino food in San Diego. Read more

Filipino restaurant in Ocean Beach!? If I wanted Filipino food, I had to drive down to National City area or Mira Mesa but found... one right off the beach town in OB and it was a great find. Fairly new restaurant is nicely renovated and feels like a smallcafe. Open kitchen space looks clean and the owner chef Anna is super nice and friendly (she?s been catering Filipino food forawhile). I had The Bento Sampler for lunch and it was delicious. Adobo was moist and flavorful. The lumpias were crispy and thedipping sauce goes well with it. Noodle & rice was great too. If you are used to other Filipino restaurants in SD, you?ll noticethat portions of the dish is on lighter side. Overall great experience, thanks for a great meal and good luck! Read more

I'm usually on the lookout for yummy little vegan spots to eat at. I wasn't aware of Filipino curry so I was pretty excited when... I found out about this place. Not full vegan but definitely some awesome vegan options. I went with the "Simply Joey" (GulayGinataan). It was very hearty and filling (or as I like to say, rib sticking). All the spices were very balanced. Even thetexture of the rice was spot on. The portions were beyond generous. Very satisfying. Family owned and the staff is awesome.Super friendly and attentive. I can't wait to go back and try more! Read more

WOW... I found it you guys. That small gem you've been looking for to never tell anyone about ever because then it gets too... big. It's small, intimate, it feels like home. Simple menu, a good chunk of it vegetarian friendly. I like that. A small menuto me means they do a few dishes, but those are done very well. This place practices that philosophy. Had the pancit bihonnoodles. Super simple dish and it was done so well. Bf had the adobo. It was super juicy and just fell apart in your mouth. Mygirl had the pork sisig which not only was delicious, but was the most expensive item on the menu coming in hot at a huevocrunching $12. Yeah. We paid $45 for 3 entrés, including tip. They close crazy early, don't serve alcohol and are familyfriendly. You don't need booze, just come hungry and with a stomach ready to be fed food that tastes like someone's mom madeit???? Read more

This place is a wonderful experience.. so far they have only been open a couple months and the entry is peaceful, clean,... tropical and calm.... And while standing right there you can see the entire kitchen... this is what it's supposed to be like.Nothing but excellence to see.. the first meal I've had here was the giant prawns and an order of the starfish lumpia.. bothwere excellent!! The prawns were large, clean, and easy to remove from the shell and the gentle sauce they were in was wonderfulon them as much as just a bite of rice with it.. after one bite I asked for a little salt and they brought me what I mayconsider my most favorite salt now... and I have tried many salts.. this is special salt.. and WOW... the flavors opened up andI was very happy with my decision to come in here... this is a really wonderful place and the owner is a wonderful woman withgreat helpers.. I got to talk to the three of them and they were super friendly, had a positive energy and good flow.. and withthe open kitchen you can appreciate it.. Give this place a try instead of burgers or burritos and you will be quite happy. Read more
