The fish here is so so fresh and sushi was flavourful. The ika was too heavily breaded but still good. My personal fave was the... sablefish and the saba which was torched in front of us. Service was awesome and the patio was perfect for a warm night. Theyeven gave us dessert for a birthday celebration. Read more

This was my first time at the restaurant and it won't be my last! I love the tapas and their many yummy options! The service was... amazing from start to finish! Everything was delicious and all of the recommendations we were given were spot on. Favouriteitems (which are many!) were - ahi tuna tataki, ebi mayo, crispy brussel sprouts, spicy pork ish-yaki. Both desserts we triedwere unreal - almond pudding and the taki yaki. I'll be recommending this place to my friends no doubt! Read more

Still have the best hot stone rice bowl in town! Love the Ebi Mayo (a kind of shrimp tempura with mayonnaise), the hot mushroom... bowl, and the hot chipotle bowl. The rice is delicious. Happy Hour everyday from 5pm-6pm. Read more

One of my favorite izakaya place in town and awesome service by the bartender - David. Knowledgeable not only on drinks but also... on food recommendation. I don’t think I’ve had anything bad from the menu. All if their sashimi and sushi are reallyfresh. If you’ve not been here, I recommend you check it out. It gets busy, so either you go early, make a reservation or beready to wait in line. Read more

Staff are soo great and friendly, loved the ambience and the music of the place! Food was good but not anything special but I... would still go again just for the great experience and people! It was a great place to start my night . Read more

The vibes and ambience here are unmatched. We were by the bar so we got to interact with staff who were super friendly and fun.... Drinks were tasty and prices were pretty reasonable considering it’s Yaletown. Food wasn’t anything too special, but overallwould come back for another night out. Read more

Went to Hapa last Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday. ????booked online and restaurant called day of to confirm booking and... let us know table had a one and a half hour window. That was good to know. ????I did not see it on their websitethough. ????Wonderful loud welcome greeting at the door and vaccine proof and ID checked efficiently. ???? kind if dark as youenter so have to adjust. Like going into the movies after movie started. I did get a fright as I was greeted and not being ableto see well... Well. I also did not have my glasses on to make it worse. I'm an on the cusp boomer in case you interested dearreader. Yes ???????? ????menu was fantastic..best sushi rolls I have ever tasted. Fried squid yum. Everything yum. My friendsagreed. A bit on the pricey side and not California Sushi (Downtown Vancouver and Broadway) prices. But if you want to take itup a notch with some unique flavours then Hapa is the place. ????????server was amazing ???? they take the plates away too fast.I was still trying to get the sauce with my squid which was on a smaller plate and whoosh my spe I'll Japanese sauce wasgone.first ti.e I was able to stop the whoosh.second time I gave up. They did redeem themselves though. See below. ????????wedid not even tell the restaurant we were celebrating a birthday but the wonderful server saw us with the gifts etc and at theend of the meal brought a complimentary desert with candles !! ???? green tea is $1.50. But it's very tasty and bottomless. Read more

First visit after the pandemic and it was an ok dining experience. Service could have been better. Our friend wanted outside and... I wished we decided to sit inside to immerse in the environment with its fragrance of food and vibrant sounds of people. Ratherthan the rain and cigarette smoke of passers by. Read more
