Ordered the three meat Lo Mein and asked for it to be spicy. I guess I needed to ask for extra spice. The meat was mostly beef... and I didn't like the fat left on, very chewy so I spit most of it out, yuck. No rice with order. $7 more expensive then when Iorder Szechuan Lo Mein combination (which includes shrimp) and comes with rice, from my favorite Eldersburg take out. I probablywon't return based on meat quality and price. Read more

This is the best Chinese food in Carroll County. We have been going here for 25 years and have never been disappointed.

They have great food. The best shrimp toast. All their food is good. A little expensive but worth it. Love the May-Fun, shrimp... rice noodles. You get what you pay for great food. Most of the time the shrimp toast is a bit bigger. I ste the 2 biggest ones. The shrimp mae fun is very good. I live their lo-mein and chow mein. Read more

I'm on my way to Forbidden City now. It's the best chinese food I've had in a long time. I love the shrimp lomein which has nice... size portions of shrimp. Their egg rolls and Crab Wontons are also fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant. Read more

We ordered Chinese from this establishment through door dash. We ordered a pint of Mongolian beef, hot and sour soup, and lo... mein which came with one pint of rice with delivery and tip everything was $50. So we called and asked why such small portionsand they said that is the door dash size. They said the normal price is $13.50 and the dinner entree is $17. So even withoutthe door dash factor this place is expensive. However, all the food was really good except the hot and sour soup. Read more

Zero stars tonight!! I have been in this restaurant 5 times and always had an ok meal. Nothing to brag about or tell your... friends and neighbors you have to eat at this establishment. My go to restaurant in another town closed when the owner retiredso I?m seeking a new weekly Chinese food restaurant. Tonight I have decided never to visit this place again until they advertisethat they have a new cook or under new ownership. The egg rolls were so greasy it poured out of them. Old oil has a distinctsmell and taste. The orange chicken was so hard I thought it was jerky. The ribs were not cooked or came out of a crockpot notseared in a wok. Worst 60 bucks ever spent. I called them and shared my concern about the lack of consistency . The nice ladyoffered a refund and I told her it?s not necessary and good luck! I?m out, never again will I take a chance. I challenge themto a cook off and I?m not a pro! Lol Read more

Usually I have a good experience when ordering from here, except last time part of my order wasn't given to me and this time I... had an issue with my food. I ordered General Tso's white meat chicken. I was eating it and suddenly started crunching onsomething mid chew. I spit out the bite and it was an egg shell... Usually never any issues with the food otherwise! Read more

Forbidden City is always great! Nice, clean restaurant with a very friendly waiting staff. Many of the waiters have been there... for several years and know their clientele. The soups are good. The appetizers are always good and they have a large selectionof entrees. A great place for carry out as well. This is our go-to place for chinese food. Read more
