Wonderful retro-themed restaurant with great staff, a little packed but it makes sense with the cool ambience and amazing food.... Got the mac and cheese, some Cajun wings, and Mel's Smash burger. I?m so happy we finally tried this lovely restaurant because it did not disappoint. I wish we had gotten our waitress? name... because she was an absolute delight and such a sweetheart! Excellent service right from the get go! The food was amazing! Sherecommended their buttermilk fried chicken because it?s never frozen and made fresh and my goodness was it delicious!!!Everything tasted so fresh and yummy we were very happy and will definitely be back to this cute, unique, diner-stylerestaurant! We have been going to Melanie Pringles weekly for the past 6 years, so this review is long overdue! Their salads with homemade... dressing are beyond amazing- I have yet to find another restaurant in Durham that can match the quality of Melanie Pringlessalads. Not to mention that the weekly wing and beer schooner special are such an amazing value for the quality of what you get!The staff is always so incredibly friendly and if anything is even the slightest bit off with your meal, they go above andbeyond to fix it- you never feel like you are "bothering" them. They are also so accommodating about swaps or modifications toyour meal. One of the Manager's Katie is truly an exceptional part of the team- she really understands customer service, and isalways ready to help/serve with a positive attitude! Whenever we know Katie is serving us, our day gets a bit brighter :) .Ihonestly can't say enough about how much we love this place- it's become our "go to" spot for a meal out in Durham. Food was disappointing tbh. Service was good and the theme was really cool. Nice and clean and very eye catching. Only good... thing was the wings tbh. The chicken wrap was not enough chicken and too much lettuce. The chicken fajitas was too littlechicken and the onions and bell peppers were over cooked. I liked that they gave u many toppings tho. Great restaurant. The menu is kid friendly and their fries are fresh and tasty. Their house dressing is amazing. My favourite... is the Mac and cheese burger with the chicken breast substituted and house dressing instead of sriracha ketchup. It?s so good! Read more
I can see why this restaurant has been open for 30+ years. Our family always has a wonderful dining experience. The staff are... fantastic and make sure that we were all taken care of. The drinks are cold and the portions are huge. Everyday, there is afood/drink special and I recommend taking advantage of. Read more
We?ve ordered take out from here previously & we finally got the chance to dine in today.. Our waitress was amazing, honestly... it?s been a long time since we?ve had service as good as hers (unfortunately I forgot to get her name, but if you?re readingthis you made our meal *that much* better!)
