The Community Project – Spiritual Soldiers

Spiritual Soldiers recently opened June 16th, 2018 in Windsor, Ontario, in the heart of Little Italy. The idea when opening the coffee shop was to overall provide a new coffee shop experience with a “no-judgement” zone.

It all began last Summer when 3 close friends came together and wanted to begin raising awareness for addiction since overcoming it themselves. Whether someone is struggling or not, they simply wanted to create a safe space for individuals to come in and talk.

Mike Brown, part owner of Spiritual Soldiers, found with the help of local sponsors and hosting a Gala event that the dream of opening a coffee shop can quickly turn into a reality. “We want to show others that you can live happy and free in recovery”. Since opening their doors to the community, they have made a positive impact by encouraging others to walk in with an open mind and to just be yourself. 

Spiritual Soldiers not only gives back by providing a safe space for individuals to be themselves, they’ve also designed a custom clothing line “Clothing with a Cause”. Each month, 10% of each item that is purchased goes back to a different local charity. “I’ve always wanted to give back and help out somehow in the community“ says Mike. 

Once stepping foot into the coffee shop, you’ll immediately notice their chalkboard menu walls. From Iced Coffees, to Cappuccino’s, an Espresso with flavour shots or fresh pastries, they’ve got what you need. We highly recommend giving their fruity signature Mock-tail a try, the Pink Panther – made with watermelon juice, pineapple juice and simple syrup, topped with pineapple flakes!
