Hi. My name is Chris. Former Chef at El Punto Mexican Cantina at 58 Webster street North Tonawanda. I would like to make all future customers aware of the unsafe practices going on in this restaurant. First off, chances are you are getting served spoiled haddock fish (more towards the end of the week) in your tacos even though head Chef John Diati say's "nobody will notice once it's battered and fried." STAY AWAY FROM ALL FISH. Secondly, the restaurant hardly uses any sanitation buckets for each kitchen station. They don't use bleach. There should be a sanitation bucket at every kitchen station which is about 6 stations. They generally only have two dirty sanitation buckets filled with hand soap. They have 15-17 year olds working there in the kitchen using kitchen equipment which, by law, is illegal for them to use. Not to mention, they are keeping these young high school kids past the legal time limit as per NYS regulations. Most importantly, they have sexual predators working for them. One is a bartender named Felix Rodriguez, he's about 6'3 250lbs. He was going into the restaurant bathroom and taking photos of his genitals and sending them, unsolicited to another female bartender who was so upset that shit quit her job. And management knows about this and did NOTHING. Well im here to do something for you. Sadly all bartenders split tips at the end of the night even if you decide not to deal with Felix as your bartender. And then you have your lovely Front of House Manager Lou-Ann Durfry. To make a disgusting story not so bad as part of this this review, she found out a kitchen employee had a genital piercing and decided to grab his crotch and make a very sexual comment to him. I've been a chef for 18 years and have never seen even Half of these things go on in a restaurant. You are also being served cooked food that's left out for 4+ hours without refrigeration. Also, the General Manager and part owner, Greg Deihl, is known to be very touchy-feely with all the younger girls who work here. (He also owned another chain location which he failed at) Ive gotten complaints from the young girls multiple times about Greg being creepy.. This is one of the reasons im leaving this review. Stay away from this restaurant. Their food is over priced, spoiled and their expensive cocktails TINY. You might get 2-2.5oz of actual liquid in your rocks glass. Do yourself a favor and order a beer instead. There's also a good chance your food is sitting under a heat lamp for 10-20 mins before your food comes out of the kitchen. KEEP YOURSELF SELF SAFE, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. TELL ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY ABOUT THIS PLACE. And no, I'm not writing this as a disgruntled ex-employee. I'm writing this to keep you all aware and keep you all safe and to let you know what really goes on in this restaurant.
