I heard of Characters BBQ from BBQ Pitmasters TV show and I decided to take the 2 1/2 hour drive and give it a try. Needless to... say as soon as I walk in the door, I was warmly greeted by the staff and Mr Character. I told him I had driven up from the Macspecifically to try his famous BBQ. The Mac by the way is Macon, Georgia. I ordered a bit of everything on the menu...lol. Ihave tasted the ribs, brisket, chicken and pork and Mr. Character I must say you did not disappoint AT ALL!! It was on point. We first heard of this place on the BBQ Pitmasters shows. I must say that the "Characters" there were super... nice, friendly and don't meet strangers. We stopped by headed north on I-75 for our 40th anniversary trip. The chopped pork,chicken and ribs were so good. I was glad we took the short detour to try this food out. If y'all are ever up in Adairsville, Georgia, y'all need to stop in at Character's BBQ!! I first found out about Michael's place... when I started watching BBQ Pitmasters and BBQ Pit Wars. I started watching because I'm a huge fan of Myron Mixon, but quicklyfound a yearning to want to visit a lot of the different Pitmasters that were on the show. I became a huge fan of Michael's aswell. We started out on our 40th Wedding Anniversary trip today and that was our first stop. Let me tell you...you have got togo and get some of his amazing food and meet him! He is the most genuine person and has an amazing attitude and his crew is asamazing as he is!! They are so welcoming!! We will most definitely be back for some of his delicious food! We got a chickenplate with baked beans and slaw. It came with bread a drink and a slice of pound cake. Also got a pork sandwich with chips. Wewere blessed with 2 ribs for our anniversary. OMG!!! Best ribs I've had!!! The smoke ring on those ribs...let me tell ya!Perfection! Some of the best barbecue in GA. Ha two meat combo pork, beef brisket with baked beans and potato salad. Also comes with a... slice of pound cake that was very good. Pork was seasoned well and beef brisket had a good bite and very juicy. Sides wereboth excellent. All of this with drink for $20 including my tip. Will be back again. Read more
