Catching up on reviews. I stopped by on Sunday, 06-26-22. Was happy to see a Black owned business I could support. I ordered the... hush puppies, mac & cheese, Nutella pudding, and a sunrise punch. I was so taken aback by the mac and cheese that I probablyonly had half a fork full before I returned it. The guy at the county almost seemed like he was expecting me and said thatthey'd been getting complaints about the mac & cheese. I guess most people were expecting a good, homemade product; it was quitedry. I was refunded for it. The hush puppies were good. The Nutella pudding was different but good; may have been morerefreshing becoming I sat outside while eating it. The sunrise punch was probably my favorite item. I sipped it only onpurpose. The other drawback besides the mac and cheese was sitting outside. I did ask to sit outside so I could soak up somesun before traveling again. No one came out to see if tables needed to be cleaned or wiped down. The table I sat at was in thebest condition. There was leftover food on the table. If you offer outside seating, there should be an effort made towards pestcontrol. I shouldn't have to fight red ants while eating, but I guess they thought I was feeding them, too. I couldn't get thebest pictures because I was trying kill them, but most of the reddish brown spots in the pictures are ants. Wouldn't return. Read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat in old town, and maybe all of northern Virginia. It's a casual bar/restaurant... downstairs and a more sit down table service type place upstairs. The hot chicken is fantastic and the Mac and cheese is creamyand delicious. I'd recommend going here if you even think you like fried chicken. Read more

Wow, I was super disappointed in this place. Overrated to say the least . Made a reservation to celebrate my niece getting her... first job out of college. Took both her an my mom for brunch . We ordered the family style…seemed like best option. Pictureson line looked amazing … could not wait to try! The deviled eggs lacked flavor, the salad was soggy , the waffles were sour…caught me off guard … ????…the potatoes/eggs/biscuits/bacon were tasteless. Positives … chicken was decent , hush puppieswere decent and the eggs Benedict were decent . Gave it two stars because the sweet tea was delicious and helped wash the blandfood down. Service was lack luster too. Overall a one and done for this family . So much better places in old town …. Avoidthis one . Read more

We went to hen quarter around noon on a Saturday. It wasn't all that busy (lots of folks going to brunch upstairs). We had the... rfg chicken sandwich - it was fantastic - chicken was perfect not overly breaded, good spice, fries were solid and Mac andcheese was really good. We will be back for sure. Read more

Whoa, what fantastic food!! We had chicken and waffle, the skin was so nice and crispy, yet the meat was so moist. Collard... greens were delicious. The Four Cheese Mac and Cheese, was divine. Finally, Creme Brulee with berries was a nice"shorbet"/palette cleanser to finish. The service was superb, a job very well done. Highly recommended restaurant. Read more
