I love this place, eat in or out, often. Always great. Great service, amazing food and decor is beautiful. However, the last... two times I ordered were total mix ups. One of the times I arrived to pick up my order at the time we were told. When I arrivedshe said she forgot to place the order. I returned home and had to come back in 35 minutes. We were given ONE piece of cake to'make up for it'. There were two of us. Wouldn't have broken the bank to add a second. Especially when this was a 75$ take outmeal! Second time I ordered one of their plates, but with fettuccine noodles as I don't like broad noodles. No problem shesaid! Picked up the order only to get home to see that they were broad noodles. Dodge the road construction and step inside to this beautifully decorated Italian eatery in historic downtown Almonte offering a... wide variety of chicken, veal and pasta dishes. A beautiful little restaurant on the main street of Almonte, Mill St. It's housed in the original post office building of the... town. The interiors are very well done up We visited them on what happened to be Day 1 of the Rogers outage and the lady at theconcierge desk was prompt to tell us that they would take cash only. The food was good and worth the wait. The Tuscan SausagePenne with cream was a little runny but tasted fine. The Fettuccine Pomarola was delicious as was the Lamb Burger! There was noroom for desserts since their portions are huge but I would love to go back for those! Read more

Cafe Postino is in the old and very beautiful old post office building of Almonte - it's almost worth going just for the... atmosphere and history of the place. Service was excellent - friendly and efficient and overall it's got a high end but quiterelaxing feel. Reasonable sized but not overly extensive menu which is normally a good thing plus some decent wines thoughnothing from Ontario unfortunately though I could have missed this tbf. Pork loin was a very good size and well cooked but Iwas somewhat disappointed by the size of the vegetables as I think I had perhaps not even half a dozen small potatoes and afairly small portion of broccolini though I wasn't so bothered by the latter but overall still enjoyable. Tiramisu was certainlypleasant but somewhat 1 dimensional in flavour - if I closed my eyes I don't know if I could've really distinguished it as beinga tiramisu as it didn't taste of coffee to me at all. It was fine but I wouldn't get it again - the chocolate cake looked verygood though. Overall if you live in Almonte or nearby definitely worth getting to for a special occasion every now and again -it's got that kind of feel and obviously the prices to match. Read more
