We had never been to Ambler and had tickets to see a friend at the ACT II Playhouse. We got to town early for dinner and a... drink. I went to order my normal go-to cocktail and our fantastic server subtly mentioned maybe the bartender could concoct adrink if so desired and I went down that rabbit hole and requested something with "gin and cucumber". I let the bartender havefull liberties and I am so glad I did! I got a wonderful gin, St Germaine, muddled cucumber with lime juice cocktail that was asrefreshing as ever on this summer evening. I got the burger and my wife the Tuna Niçoise. Both were delish and the homemadeslaw that came with the burger was outstanding and I'm a big Cole Slaw connoisseur. We enjoyed this meal and would be hard-pressed to try anywhere else if out in Ambler again.....it was that good! PS the fries were exceptional and good fries are abeautiful thing. Read more
My husband and I took my brother and his wife to dinner here for his 60th birthday, and the experience exceeded our... expectations. Every member of the staff was particularly attentive, especially our server Lindsey. I walked into the mainrestaurant from the patio and looked a little confused because I was looking for the restroom, and immediately a server said‘let me show you the way’. I happened to mention to my husband that I definitely needed a new napkin, and then boom someonebrought one to me. Not only did the staff respond quickly to requests, but they even anticipated our needs. Unfortunately, therestaurant ran out of two of the main entrées for the prix fixe special, but they told us immediately and even comped a muchmore expensive entrée for my brother, and I said that was very nice, especially since it was his birthday, and they evenremembered it later and brought a lighted candle in his dessert. All of the food was fresh, and delicious, and if I have anycomplaint at all it’s that the short ribs portion was on the small side, but it was still excellent. The Caesar salad,although a standard menu item, was a stand out because the dressing was perfectly balanced and not over dressed. Both of ourdesserts: the raspberry donut cheesecake, and the Limoncello marscopone cake were delicious, but I think the limoncello cake wasthe real winner because it was so light and fresh that it didn’t make me feel full after the large dinner we had. Let's talk about how great this place is. We went in hoping for a summer dish Cajun shrimp pasta that they had on the menu last... summer. When I'm realized they didn't have it my husband and I decided to go somewhere else. As we got to the door to leave theowner Bob stopped us to ask if everything was OK. I explained I wanted something specific. He instantly said we can make thatfor you anyways. He pointed to his son and said that's his favorite dish too he can totally make that for you.
