I enjoyed the Scotch egg and took some Bangers and mash with me for lunch. It is a special treat when in Ames. I waited for a... half an hour for them to open and it is well worth it, even with the absence of Branston Pickle. The staff were very kind andinvited me in for water early. Toss in a ginger beer and a root beer. My day at the clinic went very well. I am grateful forthese authentic culinary gems often overlooked for a drive through. Read more
Service was a 5, everyone was super friendly and helpful and the good came out quickly and hot. Ambience was a 3.5, I... immediately saw cobwebs when I came in, the place is very small and the chairs and tables didn't give me much of an English pubfeel it felt more like a dive bar. Food I would also give a 3.5, chicken tikka masala was soupy and bland, cheese balls werereally good but no homemade ranch, my friend thought her fish and chips were excellent though. I would definitely come hereagain for drinks on the patio or to try the tea and scones not sure about a full dinner though. Read more
