Not a fan, I usually love small college town places, but this felt more like chain than a mom and pop. They use regular bread,... not the usual mini-loaves that most sandwich places use. This makes if feel like you could make the sandwich yourself at home. Very average food, workers were nice, but just kind of fake, not like a real hometown small business, you would expect in acollege town. Read more

Great sandwiches, especially the Reuben.
A year ago my partner and I got food here and our order was so wrong and the sandwiches so dry we got a gift card apology from... the deli. We weren?t in a rush to go back, but we saw the muffuletta sandwiches on the menu so we finally tried to give themanother go. Again, it was so incredibly dry. The portions are good sized but the ratio of bread and meat to sauce is so off. Thesandwiches are so thick that they are a challenge to eat and I can?t get past the dryness. This is the BEST sandwich shop in Ames. Prices are great, portions amazing. That cowboy tofu is to DIE for, and I don't even... really like tofu. Employees are always nice too. I would go here before going to any other sandwich joint in Ames, nohesitation. Give it a try, you won't be let down.
