Dined for lunch. I got the ?Health Nut? with Halibut. The marinated cucumbers were pretty spicy and needed salt (I rarely use... salt), but the halibut was very good. The steamed veggies were broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and were exactly steamedveggies (no seasoning). My daughter got the dinner salad and said the ranch dressing was excellent. She got the chicken sandwichand said it was fine (it?s rare in my experience to get an outstanding chicken sandwich). The fries were really good. It was abusy Sunday around noon and the service was fine - can?t expect super fast when they are that busy. A bit pricey for what wegot. Read more
This was a great place for quality beers, but we were disappointed by the service and food. . I reckon there were 15-20 minutes... between checks by our waitress, which seems long when you are staring at an empty beer glass. It turned my next beer into "checkplease". . The halibut fish n chips was in fact chunks of fish surrounded by a soft coating of some type... not the shatteringbatter one expects. It was spongy and bland. The fries were the coated sort that are exactly not to my taste. I'd had pubfries the day before elsewhere so these were more obviously lacking. The king crab bites were probably 50% breadcrumbs; at leastthey weren't gourmet priced like my fish n chips. If you squinted, you could detect crab flavor. . The place has a great vibe,no doubt. Stopped here after being dropped off at a waiting area after a cruise. SLOW!!! Yes there was lots of people which they obviously... could not manage. Would not recommend if you arrive with a cruise unless you want to wait and wait and wait OVER AN HOUR - midafternoon - for food. They did not give us a kids menu and little 6 year old given adult meal. The staff did not tell us itwould be a long time. Nor did they update us on our order. Patrons BEWARE: They upsell EVERYTHING. I have two kids ages 9 and 11. They got burgers. When the bill came, they charged for... adult meals instead of kids. I asked the waitress to correct it and she started challenging me, telling me I didn't order kidsmeals ... FOR THE KIDS. Not only was I challenged about the kids meals, but after she spoke to the manager about it, threw thenew receipt in my lap and didn't say a word. I ALSO never was even offered a kids menu ... You know, for my kids. I ordered ahouse salad, there are two different sizes, I wasn't asked which size, again just giving me the more expensive one. Lastly, thekids tried to order lemonade (you know, off the kids menu that doesn't exist) and she said they don't sell lemonade. ???? Looking past the horrible waitress service, the fries were reportedly good and the food was mediocre. They are kidfriendly, meaning past eight pm kids are still welcome. Quality: very delicious good food with high quality ingredients. The crab cake nuggets are good. The seafood pasta with scallops... and artichokes are excellent. Fried Halibut and fries are really nice. The salmon dip was okay. But it?s not my order. Lol.Originality: high for the seafood pasta. Environment: one knock for the high noise level. A cover band is playing on Sundayevening and way too loud. Can?t enjoy a pleasant meal without blowing out your eardrum. I could only sit there with my ear plugsand eat my meal while watching sumo wrestling. Lol. It?s a sport bar after all. The beer is okay.
