It was first friday so busy, but we waited 45 minutes for our food - the cesar with chicken - pretty awful with extremely dry... chicken. The scallops were delicious but the rest of the dish was awful - 6 small green beans and a pile of flavorless redpotatoes, very disappointing, one of the the best parts of the meal was the lemon butter on the dry rolls - will not return. I?ve been here before with relatively good service and food. But last night was terrible. We waited over an hour for food. My... steak came out lukewarm and my fries were cold and hard. Thankfully the waitress brought me new fries, but nothing could be doneabout the steak (and at this point I was too hungry to care. On top of that, steak was tiny and we left hungry.\n\nNormally, Iwould have assumed a comped dessert or something but the waitress had the audacity to ask if we wanted to order dessert. You cando better Muse.\n\nThe one shining light was whatever the dressing was on my little salad because it was scrumptious andamazing. Read more

Different and delicious! I\'d probably only go here occasionally as it is a bit pricier than other places I have lunch at, but... it is very tasty. I had a spicy masa stew (vegetables and spices that gives a savory balance with the sweet squash) which wasreasonably priced, a spotted shrimp pasta with vodka sauce (shrimp was sweet, pasta was fresh) and my husband had NY stripsteak. The portions are \"just right\", I\'m a big eater so I was glad I also got a soup along with my main dish. Most maindishes range $18-22, but soup was $8.\nBread and butter was brought out. Butter has spruce tips, definitely a uniquetaste.\nYes, I plan to go again, though not frequently due to cost. I was full so I didn\'t get to sample their deliciouslooking desserts this time. New chef and boy did it show! My family and I used to love to eat here but never again! My mom ordered a breakfast item but... wanted scrambled eggs rather than a poached egg (people are funny about how their eggs are prepared) we were told sternly thatthe chef would not ever change an item and that we were to order it as it was on the menu. The waitress said that the chef hadgiven her strict orders and she told us throughout ordering, after we ordered and as we were leaving. We got it! We will notchange the menu! (Even though the menu said \"roached egg\" not poached egg. But ok. We have a Seinfeld episode here, thisreminded me of \"no soup for you!\"\n\nOur food took 35-40 min to arrive. No one else had ordered. The place was empty. One mealcame out first. My mom and I waited 5 min for ours. My toast took an additional 10 minutes. Have you ever seen toast like this?I didn\'t order croutons.. I ordered toast. But, ok. The first 2 pieces were ok since they were hot and the rest of my meal wasice cold. My third piece cut my mouth it was so hard. Probably why baguettes are not used for toast...!\n\nWe were told by thewaitress that the chef only uses all \"Alaskan\" items, nothing off the truck like the last company and that not only is she achef, but a pastry chef. We were still hungry because our meal was terrible so we thought... how bad can dessert be? Oh.. it\'sbad. Not only are the torte crusts not fresh but the fruit was spoiled. The strawberry was literally cut in half but the chefstill left it on my plate to eat. If you say everything is made from scratch, please... don\'t use crusts that are obviouslynot... Also, putting an unwrapped dirty wet wipe on a dessert plate is unappetizing. Maybe it was placed to keep the bowl onthe plate but.. gross! A wet wipe was not provided for the other two desserts. We removed the bowl so the wet wipe could be seenclearly in the photo.\n\nThe floors were un-swept. Wait staff polished silverware as they placed it, Read more

I typically do not write reviews unless a place is exceptional or a place is unexceptional, Muse is exceptional. My kids and I... stopped by after visiting the Anchorage Museum and we were all glad we did. First, the service. Our waitress Melissa (orMichelle) was great and very attentive to my kids\' needs. Everything (being seated, ordering drinks, getting food, etc.) wasvery prompt, which I appreciate with impatient kids. Second, the food. One of my kids had a pizza and the other had chickenfingers and not only did they not complain (my kids are complainers!), they told me they wish there was a Muse where we lived sothey could eat there all of the time. I ordered the crab roll, not knowing what to expect (I have only had east coast crabrolls), and it was one of the best crab rolls I have ever had. Everything was perfect. I should have taken a picture because itlooked like the food a place would take pictures of to put on their website.\n\nI don\'t know many people in Alaska, so I turnto google to spread the word on how much I enjoyed my experience here. If I am ever in Alaska again, this will be a stop (maybetwice) while I am there. I definitely recommend you give this place a try, you may be pleasantly surprised. Cheers. Read more
