We had a great time celebrating my friend?s birthday this weekend. Most of us ordered the Black Grouper and it was delicious.... But the filet was delightful as well for all you land lovers. The atmosphere was very nice we went early and beat the crowds.The service was excellent. The only thing I did notice was that they did not keep our Chardonnay cold for us. Read more
The staff was very friendly and welcoming as we walked in! We requested to sit outside and was given a perfect little spot under... the jasmine vines. We weren?t limited to what was just on the menu, my husband wanted a grouper sandwich, and they delivered. Asfor the food itself, it was first class! We had the gumbo, chicken salad, and grouper sandwich. It was all delicious andpresented beautifully. Our server was Aaliyah. She was so sweet and took great care of us. She made my amazing salad. Best dinner spot in town by far. We walked in two nights in a row without a reservation and were seated relatively quickly both... times. Catch of the day specials were delicious both nights and the service was the best in town. Would definitely return fordinner every time we stay in town! Read more
We did not have a good first experience. I am not one to leave negative reviews, but i want to be honest. Maybe it was the time... of day (we came around 2pm), but still, we were not impressed based on the reviews we heard. Food was mediocre overall. Breadwas cold and stale?other ppl said theirs was warm, ours was far from. Took forever to get our main courses and when they got tous, they were also cold. Got the vegan jambalaya and grouper special. Jambalaya had good flavor but quality was not $16. Grouperwas mostly grits (which we were told were ?cheesy grits? and they weren?t cheesy at all?tasted very bland and were cold andclumpy). Very small piece of grouper on top and small portion of tomato sauce for the large mound of grits. Not worth $30(!!!!). The best part was out server who was kind and attentive (as much as she could be because she was slammed). Would give 1star if it weren?t for our server. Read more

My husband and I are out on an adventure for Thanksgiving. Our destination for this year is Apalachicola, FL. Before we ventured... out, we planned on celebrating Thanksgiving at the Owl Cafe. In all honesty, my expectations were average before we stepped footinside this establishment. We figured it may be good but not like homemade... We arrive at the restaurant and it's in a perfectlittle location, about 5 minutes from our hotel. The restaurant is on the second floor but there is an elevator for thedisabled. As soon as we arrived, we were promptly greeted with smiles and sat down at a perfect table for 2. We ordered alemonade, sweet tea, the turkey dinner, the shrimp dinner, pecan pie tartlet, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Everythingwas FANTASTIC! My husband's shrimp was perfectly cooked and he received A LOT of them! All of the portions were VERY generous.The sweet potato souffle was really good! It had bits of pecan and they left off those sickly sweet marshmallows (thankgoodness). In addition, the lemonade and sweet tea were so good without being overly sweet. The turkey was moist with aflavorful gravy on the side. The absolute "icing on the cake" was the pecan pie tartlet. I normally DO NOT like pecan pie but ohmy god, this tartlet was scrumptious! It was sweet enough, with a dollop of creamy ice cream. The pecans tasted fresh and thecrust was thin, crunchy, and buttery! The service overall was prompt, efficient, and VERY friendly. We even had the manager (weare assuming) come over and ask us about our meal. He even inquired about the squash souffle - which was unique but tasty! Ijust want to say thank you for being open on this holiday, and taking time from your families, to ensure we, as travelers, havesomething to eat. You're amazing and keep up the good work!! Read more
