A truly unique experience. They give lots of food so they make sure you won't go home hungry and maybe even with some left... overs. The Hello Kitty is a must have drink, fruity and yummy. Since enjoying numerous positive dining experiences at the downtown Katsu-ya branch, I decided to try out this branch. I visited... here a few times to test consistency of the food and I have to say the quality holds up. For the Fox Valley area, I think thisis the only restaurant where I've nigiri, sashimi, and maki whose quality were on par with the ones I've had when I've been inTokyo and downtown Los Angeles. The ingredients are fresh which greatly enhance the tasting experience. It was also to mydelight that they had uni and that it was also fresh. The various times I've been there, I've had the omakase or on the menu"nigiri and sashimi Chef Special". I respect the thought the chefs put into selecting which fish would be best and thearrangements they have to make it as visually appealing as possible. To compliment the prime taste of the fish, their tea andtheir selection of sake pair well with the meal. I greatly thank the serving staff as they were knowledgeable in what pairingsto offer along with explaining which fish the Chef served me. I think this is most well-managed sushi restaurant along with theKatsu-ya branch to grace the Fox Valley area. I never doubt the quality and this is a wonderful place for me to introduce myfriends to the wonderful flavorful world of sushi. Read more

I was very disappointed coming here again after a few years. It used to be amazing and they never had a problem that I couldn't... deal with raw fish. It's not even the flavor just the texture. Anyways, I asked if they could make me a sushi roll but have thefish inside cooked instead of raw and they told me it was fine and upcharged for extra work. Which didn't bother me at all. Butthen when I got my food it was completely raw and I had already left to go back to work so I couldn't go back to fix it. I triedeating it and I might have been able to with soy sauce, but they only gave me a super tiny amount even though I asked for extra. The customer service was nice, I just was very disappointed in the food, considering in the past when I came here they didn'tmind what I asked for and it always tasted amazing. And they understood that you need more than half a drop of soy sauce for 2rolls of sushi. Read more

By far the worst hibachi I?ve ever had. I had chicken & shrimp and all I could taste was oil and soy sauce. My husband said the... same thing about his steak. The fried rice was mush. I?ve never been to a hibachi place where I couldn?t even choke down thefood. I would definitely not recommend this place unless oil & soy sauce is your thing. Read more
