Soooo.... I've been going to Tom's drive-in since I was a young kid (with my parents), I'm now in my 60s. Anyway... stopped at... the Wisconsin Ave store yesterday evening (11/01/22) around 5:30/6pm-ish. Ordered a 1/2 pound burger (plain, no cheese, meat &bun only). The guy taking the order repeated it back exactly as such. Paid for the sandwich, had to pull ahead and wait. Whenfood was brought out, I checked it. Clearly had cheese on it. Drove to the front, walked in & at first it was like the manager &the guy working the counter were avoiding me. (Kid looked at me twice). Finally got them to turn around & I told them of theissue. They said they would make a new one. Meanwhile the kid taking drive thru ordered walked over & said I asked for cheese.Then walked away laughing. Anyway, new burger came out. I opened it to make sure it was correct. NOPE!!! I ordered & paid for ahalf pounder. This was Clearly a 1/4 pounder. Let them know I was not a happy customer. Manager says, do you expect us to makeit Again?? I then said never mind, just give me a refund. No offer of (were Sorry about this), No offer of any sort of couponcard for future use. I left & went to Tom's on Calumet. Ordered the Same thing! No issue there. Did the online survey thing &called today asked for the manager, got "im the assistant manager, asked again to speak with the manager & well yeah. Asstmanagerit was as this wasn't going to go any farther up the line. So... I told an assistant manager about what hadhappened. Pretty sure that's as far as that will go. Apparently the lady last night was Also an assistant. Soooo the guy Italked to said He was an assistant manager meaning he very likely had No pull to talk to the lady assistant manager from lastnight. If you're going to eat at Tom's, I strongly recommend going to the one on Calumet St. Very, very disappointed in theway that this issue was handled at the Wisconsin Ave store. First time here and we are not very local, we opted for drive thru service, polite staff, delicious food, and fast service. We... will be back! We were amazed at the line of cars that showed just as we exited. 1:30ish pm mid week, the line still appeared tomove at fast pace. Read more
My brother decided to go here for dinner, and I just have to say, employees and manager was not it. Disrespectful and immature... attitude in the kitchen. Overheard every word they said, disrespecting my brother as he was eating. From my brothers order,normally Toms burgers are always cold even when they were cooked, so he asked them kindly to just reheat it in the microwave.But the employee insisted to just recook everything? which I don?t understand why he couldn?t have just done it in the microwaveto save his time. After my brother got his meal, he overheard throughout the empty restaurant about the manager talking in themost disrespectful and immature way about my brother to their employees. Took an evening walk to Tom?s to get an ice cream cone (something we have done in the past with no issues.) and The hours stated... they were open until 9pm. Got there and the inside was closed at 8pm but drive through was open. There were no cars so we got inline. We were told we couldn?t be served unless in a car. We will never come back. Read more
