We usually travel up to Arlington every 3 weeks and this is our go to diner. We go here for the French toast and corn beef oh my... god so goooood you will not regret it. Great hospitality and atmosphere I must say. We enjoyed our food and time here Thank youto Metro 29 for great food. Read more
Best french toast I've found anywhere in the country. Pancakes are the size of a dinner plate and have good flavor. Banana... cream pie is simple, yet luxurious at the same time. Omelettes and other egg dishes are all made in a generous, quality dinerstyle. Prices are reasonable. Weekend brunch hours are busy. Your best bet is to go in the middle of the week to avoid the waitlist. Read more
We have enjoyed many meals at Metro 29 over the years. The kitchen never disappoints. But what makes a dining destination a... success is more than good food. On Saturday 20 August we experienced outstanding table service that rivals even the top dollarrestaurants. Unfortunately I don't have our server's name but she was about 5'2", glasses and a wonderful, genuine smile. Wecan teach the mechanics of table service but we can't teach the talent for subtle engaging with our guests. She nailed itflawlessly throughout our entire dining experience. She smoothly suggested meal choices, specifically dessert, one of Metro'sstrongest suits! Please recognize her outstanding work. Staffers like her do your kitchen justice. Keep it up! Read more
Restaurant was nicer (and larger) inside than expected. The name and chrome exterior belie a fairly nice restaurant interior. ... It is the kind of place that you don't have to dress up to visit, but if you did you wouldn't feel out of place. The staff werepolite and helpful. The portions were generous. I had occasion to try the tuna melt and the cheeseburger. Both were garnishedwith a couple large onion rings. Both were decent, but the burger was definitely the better of the two. The real winner in myopinion was the fries they came with. Soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, just the way I like them. I did not have achance to try a dessert this time, but the desserts in the display case looked amazing. Definitely will try them next time. Read more

Stopped in for a quick, light lunch last week. The service was attentive, the food was fresh and delicious, and, all in all, it... was a delightful surprise. Great diner feel with lots of chrome. My crab cake sandwich exceeded expectations by far. Tons oflump crab meat, well seasoned, and it was giant. Desserts were over the top and quite good. I recommend it highly. Kudos to thestaff which was on point, especially for a late afternoon midweek. Prices seemed very reasonable for the quantity and qualifyof food. Read more
