They charge a 10% service fee on top of menu prices and the explanation is to pay their employees. Virtue signaling at its... worst. Just add 10% to your prices and pay your employees. Instead you add the "service charge" so people will ask about it. Thankful for all the vegan options but this is not well run. I ordered iced tea...just regular iced tea...and somehow that wasthe last thing to come out. The person that gave us our food literally said "I know youre waiting on iced tea it'll be rightout." The ambiance, service and quality were all what you?d expect of a locally-owned Asheville natural bistro. The thing that really... stood out to me was the 10% service fee that ?supports a living wage for the people that work in the back.? So my $4.25 lattewas $6.50 by the time I tipped the entire store staff. I?m supportive of a living wage and gladly pay a premium to allow a greatquality of life for all people, but this particular tactic felt a little deceptive. It won?t necessarily stop me from comingback but people who visit here should be aware they?ll actually pay 10% more for their order than what is listed on the menu. Read more
