Been twice now. First time I ended up being swayed to the special; a mac and cheese burger. The ketchup seals the deal...too... many places don't understand that some kind of tomato base (I quite like BBQ) pairs so well with mac and cheese. Second time Igot what I originally went for. The Cheesie...and frankly I think it may be one of the best burgers I have ever had...and itisn't really a burger. More a toasted sub with burger insides. Crispy outside, the right amount of toppings, and cheese meltedto that runny perfection that shows that American cheese if perfect with a burger. The fries here are great. Crispy on theoutside, soft on the inside, and whatever they season it with is delicious. Last but not least, the staff. Everyone seems happyand invested in both what they are doing and you as a customer. Montford Deli continue a trend I have found of great restaurantstucked into or next to convenience stores. I hate to leave negative reviews for local joints who really do a terrific job. Today @ maybe 2pm I ordered a Grilled Chicken... Sandwich, and asked it was dairy free. They said yes except we?ll use sourdough bread instead of brioche because it has dairy.Great people there, super friendly and helpful and a damn good sandwich. However, without sharing too much, I am now discoveringthat maybe it was not dairy free. I suspect that the bread was toasted with butter? Or that it was on the grill before mysandwich, I don?t know. I will update my review if I can find out that this was not the result of my sandwich, but it was theonly thing I did not make for myself today. If it is, it?s a shame you cannot trust fully that food restrictions will beaccommodated for. They also believed that egg is dairy, so maybe I should have been more directional. Update: It is extremelyrefreshing to have a business be transparent and take responsibility for an honest mistake. I will be returning soon for anotherround, thanks a ton! Read more
This place is the best! Our Uber driver told us to check them out and it was honestly the best food we?ve had our whole trip.... Everything was delicious and the people were the sweetest and so welcoming. My boyfriend and I shared the burger and the Reuben.My boyfriend described his post meal feeling as good euphoria. I eat at the Montford Deli at least once a week. The food is consistently delicious, ready fast, and the people who work there... are amazing. Their daily specials are SO GOOD, my favorites are the Thursday Cuban and the Lobster Roll when it?s in season. Youcan?t go wrong ordering anything from here, the grilled chicken sandwich is delicious, the fries are crispy and flavorful(they?re really the only fries worth eating), and I?ve watched them bread their chicken tenders to order.
