It was so nice to see the owner or manager bring a customer that was with her elderly mother and had her dog with her, a dish of... water OUTSIDE for her dog. I respect them for not letting the dog (wasn't a service dog) into their food service establishment.So many other places cave into pressure out of fear of upsetting a potential customer. We are so glad we stopped in to pick up sandwiches (Astorialetta and Italian Turkey) for the road on our way out of town this... weekend. They were both amazing - great bread and layer upon layer of flavorful, high quality ingredients. We found the pricesto be fair, especially considering the very generous portion size (the sandwiches are actually perfect for sharing) and qualityof the ingredients. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Astoria and will make sure we have cooler space for someof the gourmet market items as well! Read more
