Nice little restaurant tucked away in a shopping center along the river. You can barely see the river anymore! The food here is... good and my wife loves this place for breakfast. I had the pimento cheeseburger and it was excellent. I do have to ding thisand any other counter service restaurant. I prefer table side ordering for the extra time for social interaction and more timeto peruse the menu without people breathing down your neck. I understand the rationale behind counter service from a businessperspective. And it might be good for groups of people that are individually paying. But in general, I consider it a stepbackwards in the service and hospitality space. This restaurant moved from tableside to counter services which is why I bringit up here. They made a point of explaining it to us as we walked in the door so clearly a lot of people haven't realized theshift yet. I'll just go on record as saying I'm not for it! (In case my earlier hints were not clear!) But, politics aside, this is a nice little restaurant. The atmosphere is casual and good for conversation. The outside seating area is comfortableand has a lot of trees around it. I wouldn't call it a romantic location but I'd say it's a good place for a casual date or afamily dinner or a group of friends....Except you have to stand in line to order. There is plenty of parking. Read more

This place is pretty good. I'm not a big breakfast guy but they do it right. It's a great place for brunch, if you are into that... thing. I am not. To be frank, I got taken here by my wife who, at the time had just moved to Athens. She really likes it. I amindifferent at best, but certainly see the appeal. Will most likely return, most likely when the inlaws visit or something butalso probably when she wants to and I can't think of any reasonable excuse to not come along. I mean she's pretty great and I amwilling to eat breakfast at a place she prefers because I love her and that's what really matters right? Read more

We had been to the original Mama's Boy restaurant several times over the past 4 years, but this was our first time at the Macon... Highway location. Despite a 1 hour wait due to the graduation crowd, it was well worth it. We started out with the banana breadand goat cheese appetizers. Both were excellent. For our main dishes I got the pulled pork bowl (the photos show everyone'sdishes), which was great! I'm not a big biscuit fan, but these are hands down the best I've ever had and I always look forwardto them. Considering the huge crowd they had to serve, the staff was efficient, friendly, and attentive. I almost wish our sonwas not graduating so we could come back. ???? Read more

I stopped in at Mama?s Boy at The Falls in Oconee County to grab a bite to eat on my way home. I was pretty hungry and it?s been... a long time since I went out to eat so I decided what the heck. I didn?t want to go to Waffle House or someplace like that that. They don?t really have any healthy options. So I got out my phone and look for restaurants near me. I should?ve known that Mama?s Boy was the closest place that served a good breakfast. So that?s where I went. I got there early before 8 o?clock andwas happy to see that it wasn?t too crowded. There were several people already waiting but I got served pretty quickly. I didnotice when I got ready to leave that they were much busier. There were probably 20 people outside the door waiting for a table.I guess i got there at just the right time. I chose a table outside so I could be in the sunshine, but when I got out there itwas pretty chilly. Luckily within a few minutes the sun popped up over the trees, hit me in the back and I was toasty warm. Iordered the vegetable scrambler with cheese grits, sourdough toast and coffee. I didn?t eat much of the toast; I?m not really abread person anyway. It was OK. The veggie scrambler was to die for (does anyone still say that?) The onions were crunchy butwell cooked. They had that little white crumbly cheese on top; I have no idea what that is but it?s yummy. The cheese grits?mmmmm, don?t get me started! They were so good but I love cheese grits anyway so they would have to be pretty bad for me not tolove love love them. The coffee was really good too - hot, fresh and just strong enough for me. They serve real half-and-halfin a little pitcher. Too cute!! They also have bamboo straws. I love straws but I don?t want to use plastic ones. I have what Icall a drinking problem; whenever I drink something out of a glass I managed to dribble (pour) it down my front. They had thisweird little thing sitting on the table. It was shaped like a vase with a little flexible pro Read more
