For me, it was a great dive bar. The Amarillo burger was fantastic; possibly the best burger I?ve ever had. I loved the vibe... from the decor to the music to the horror movie on the bar TV. Service was good. The beer selection has a fair amount to bedesired from a craft beer perspective but the offerings were appropriate for the atmosphere, decent variety, with 3 local brewson tap; I got a pint of the Austin Beerworks Fire Eagle IPA for $4.75. One of my favorite bars in the whole country. Like a cave inside, kinda. Love the gargoyle above the bar. Backyard looks like... Mayan ruins. Great selection of music on the Jukebox. And oh yeah, best burgers in town. One of my last old hangouts that remainin Austin before the place got so insipid and fake. Read more
Dark, loud, undergroundish bar with great food. Several locals recommended El Camino to us for having the best burgers in town.... They were right: the meat is thick and juicy, among the best I've ever had. The sandwiches are equally delicious. Good selectionof beers as well. The kitchen is open until 1:30am. Read more
Local restaurant recommended by a local within walking distance to the hotel and convention center. Has a full bar, not ideal... for large parties but there is some 2nd floor seating. Entertainment includes pool tables and juke box. Arrived for dinner withfriends. We ordered at the window and our name was called when it was ready. We tried the buffalo burger, the firebird chickensandwich and the grilled chicken club, a basket of fries and the key lime empanadas to share. Everything was amazing! Verygenerous portions, fresh burger...really good food. The empanadas were cooked perfectly, not too sweet, could of been a littlemore tangy for key lime but still delicious. The fries were ok. The decor is no frills and underwhelming but doesn't impact thefood. Employees were friendly. Mostly self serve, limited table service. Would eat here again. Read more

I was told I had to try the burgers here, so this is me letting everyone know the same. Try the burgers here! I went today... before I left Austin and ordered the Amarillo burger with a side of Verde Chili fries. Everything was perfect. The burgers arehuge! I couldn?t finish it, but really wanted to. The Amarillo burger has a kick to it, but I love spicy food. I also had aBloody Mary, that was a meal in itself. Not sure what the reviews about the poor service are about. Yes, it?s a dive bar.
