Disappointed. The sushi wasn't that good, and that's the whole point of the restaurant. The spicy tuna tasted like it came out... of a can, the cream cheese in the Rock and Roll was really overpowering and gummy. The california roll wasn't good. The Trapperand Skywalker were the least bad, but still didnt have any distinct flavors except bland sushi rice and "spicy". Thank goodnessthere was soy sauce! Occasionally there were wafts of a fishy unpleasant smell coming from the sushi bar/kitchen. The music wassemi loud, that wasn't fun. This atmosphere and staff were amazing. Sit at the bar and do the all you can eat. 2 rolls and an appetizer and it pays for... itself. The chefs were funny and actively engaged in conversation and answered questions. The servers were a little slow ondrinks but one was in training so no biggie. The food is absolutely amazing the best sushi we have ever had. We will definitelybe back for the experience and amazing menu. The magnificent roll is the best roll I've had. Update- We went for Mother's day. I was a little surprised and saddened they took the soft Shell crab off the all you can't eat... menu. The atmosphere was different on this day. It wasn't as I remember at this location. So if I go back I may try the newerone that opened. My server was decent, she tried engaging as best possible it just wasn't the same as the previous two timesthat we'd been in. So my friend bragged about the one she went to in Seattle. When she realized they'd finally opened one herein AZ she said we have to go. Well I'm surely glad we did. We all sat at the bar for the all you can eat and I'm am forevergrateful. Our Chef and I hate I forgot his name, he made us feel welcomed. He engaged with us which made the first timeexperience even better. The environment was so full of energy that we laughed and ate and had most of the staff engaged even inpassing. It's rare to that type of experience in these times but we did. Two in our party kept saying I don't like Sushi, buyon yesterday they were changed and now will be tagging along on our next outing. There's not that many sushi places in Avondale so I was glad to see this place open. They have gluten free options and make the... rolls right in front of you. It was all you can eat which worked out great because I was able to try several rolls. I had 3different rolls and they were all delicious but my favorite was the Trapper roll which is the one in the picture here, I had tomake some adjustments to make it gluten free but it was delicious! By far the best Trapper's I've visited. The staff was incredibly personable and friendly. I had the lunch special and I think... it was well worth the price. As long as you go in knowing it's the American version of Sushi, you'll enjoy the experiencegreatly. Read more
