Edit from last night review. It is now 11:30am on 10/21/22 and I have a wretched case of food poisoning. I feel like death atm... ughhh. Ok, so this is a reposting with an updated review. Personally I really like the crooked bass, but after all I do promisehonest reviews. So sadly.....here goes :( Service wise we felt basically abandoned for the evening (8/20/2022). It took an hr onthe button to get the 1st plates to the table (salads) and almost an hr and a half in I had to go to the bar to get a beer and awater for my kid. Very slow and like I said, we felt left out. The crab stack should be renamed the red onion stack. The crab isactually a thin layer in the middle. But the red onions? Piiiiled way high (see photos). The pita chips looked burned, and itlater became known it was most likely due to old, dirty grease. Please dump that stuff and put a fresh block of lard in there. Iordered the pick three basket of oysters, scallops, and flounder. The oysters and flounder were ok, but the scallops seemedsoaked with grease and under cooked. Please see photos. Lastly when I took the oysters and scallops off I found a literal pileof old breading bits on the flounder (again see pics). Again I really don't like posting anything bad about this place, becauseI do generally like going here. But we did travel to Babson Park from Sebring, and ended up disappointed on this particularvisit. Read more

Went there tonight for dinner 5:30 PM first time. I read all reviews about this restaurant. First of all it was top shelf to say... the least. Greeted immediately when we entered. Seated immediately, Drink orders taken immediately Reviewed the menu and wecouldn?t decide yet We asked for cups of soups , seafood gumbo and clam chowder for starters until we had a chance to decide ondinners. Soups were brought out within minutes piping hot and delicious! We ordered our dinners. Salad was quickly served.Drinks were refilled constantly. Our dinners were served to us just as we finished up our salads. Timing perfect. Dinners wereexactly what we ordered , fresh seafood hot, sides great also. Waitresses gave us 100% fine service and the food was excellent. We will be back for sure, thank you! Read more

The best crab legs in Florida. Trust me, the ole lady ate dang near 5 servings and she's only 5'1". She ate almost her body... weight in them things. I had a this big sampler platter with shrimp, oysters, clam strips, scallops and flounder. You'll have toloosing your britches after that meal. This was our first visit of many to come. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Read more

First time here and we will be going back for sure. Our server was super nice and helpful. The food came out quickly and was... delicious. I had grilled grouper, my husband had fried catfish. Others in our party had prime rib and fried shrimp. We were toofull for dessert. The Restaurant is really unique. They have fishing related stuff all around. My only complaint. We were seatedat a 6 top right outside the kitchen next to the bar. It was very noisy and waitresses zooming back and forth. At one point 2waitresses bumped into each other but luckily only 2 dishes (empty) fell and neither broke. Some of the waitresses would standnear the kitchen door and yell down the bar to someone on the other side. Our food came so fast we didn?t ask to be moved butthe next time we go (and there will be a next time) we will ask to be seated in a different area. Read more

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to the Crooked Bass! She had the fried frog legs and spinach. She found them to be... very tender and juicy. I had the blackened catfish and it was amazing! We both had the spinach which was sautéed withgarlic and it was also wonderful. My wife passed on dessert cause she found the cole slaw to be a fine substitute with itssweet and crunchy flavor. Prices were in line with quality of food. Server attention was spot on. I highly recommend thishidden gem. We will be coming back in a couple of weeks and bringing a group of motorcyclists as we want to share this awesomeplace with them. If you?re in the area stop in and you won?t be disappointed !
