Let me tell you this: I first came to Lal Qila in 2019 while I was in the St. Louis area for business meetings. I live in the... greater Toronto area, which has a plethora of decent Indian and Pakistani restaurants. Lal Qila's food was so good. ButterChicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, healthy portions of Naan bread and rice served in a family atmosphere. The portions were so largethat we had enough to eat for lunch the next day. Fast forward to November 2022. We head back to Lal Qila on a Thursday night. The same owner greets us. Unfortunately, the dining room is closed due to staffing issues (damn Covid). Take out only except onFriday-Sunday. We decide to order and take the food back to the Marriott. I take a moment to tell the owner how much I enjoyedour meal back in 2019. His response? He set up a table for us in the dining room. I said thank you, we'll be happy to eat out ofour take out containers. His response? He set out proper dishes, brought us bottles of water, enough Naan bread for the 3 of usand some yogurt dip. Back to the food. Butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, and yes, lots of rice. Tender, flavourful, and filling. The portions left us food for the following day. The owner went above and beyond. So did the food. I'll be back. Hopefully, soon. Read more

Great food to taste and eat. Goat / mutton was cooked deliciously. However a bit too much oil. Everyone should try the puri,... it's a specialty. The biryani was good as well. The sweets were delightful. I'm don't like too much sweet, but this was thecorrect amount. The buffet is a definite recommendation. But maybe only once in a few months since it's a bit too much to have. Also they should probably increase the size of the place. It gets too crowded and walking around is bothersome. Read more

Very poor customer service, arrogant owner. We bought an order for carry out which included Nihari, Haleem, Nans and Kabab he... missed Nihari in the order, I called them and he said come and pick up Nihari or come and get a refund. I told him that kababsare burnt (see picture) and sent him the picture. He said bring the kababs back and get a refund. Haleem had so much salt the itwas not eatable. I called him next day to bring the Kabab back to him, he got very upset and said don?t buy food from me again.I asked can I talk to your dad (Riaz) who was the owner of the restaurant, he said now I am the owner of the restaurant. He saidI don?t like customers who complain and give feedback about my food. I won?t recommend this restaurant at all. Read more

We had the buffet on Friday evening, not realizing it was more heavily Pakistani. Lot of goat on buffet, (yes, goat is chopped,... with small bones. But that's how it's done) and some chicken. Expected pakoras, but were not there. Basket of bread(roti/chapati?) was amazing, freshly cooked Galub jamun was very good, and addictive. Overall, a great meal, but not ourfavorite, as we expected more Indian dishes. Read more
