DO NOT GO HERE!!! If I could turn back time, we would have listened to friends and read the reviews closer! We had a horrible experience last Sunday! We were there for 2 hours and 20 minutes! We bussed our own table from appetizers, had to get our own water from the bar, we fetched our own napkins and ketchup and steak sauce when our food finally came! The food order wasn?t right and the food wasn?t good! The worst part though? No apologies! We were mocked and argued with by the staff and the manager! On our way out, they celebrated by saying ?looks like we?re drinking tonight?! We?re from out of town and rented a cabin for a week and I was really looking forward to a special night out to dinner with my parents, adult children and our grandson (he?s 11 months old and got cold macaroni and cheese 2 hours after we arrived)! DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Food a d drinks were excellent. We could tell they were short staff which is not a surprise this day and age. The bartender and waitress still made us a priority and took great care of us. I would highly recommend and will be back!
We didn't stay here but we took the boat over and had supper. It's a lake side restaurant so that's always fantastic to have. They have plenty of boat slips for people who boat over. The patio is really nice, our server was excellent and the food was good but not great. Overall I'd still recommend going if you're out exploring the lake!
Great vibe with live music solo artist Barry Nelson. Great vibe with audience. Just right background music. Great food, at very reasonable prices. Don't let the luxurious ambience scare you off! Low bar prices and very reasonable food prices. Staff was busy, but very congenial and attentive. Great management.
We were not greeted upon arrival, then asked to seat ourselves. We were not offered menus, and had to ask for them after 20 minutes. Waitress forgot our salads and a few other things. Service was generally bad and food was average and barely warm. Steak was sent back once, and overcooked both times. Server presented the check without asking if we needed anything else. Erika needs to step up her game as a server or step down from her position. We were treated very poorly considering the price and "pride in your service" I read about in another review. You would be better off getting fast food, you would probably find better service there. It was an overwhelmingly disappointing experience, there is potential in this restaurant, but obviously the staff we met were not trying to reach for that.
We stayed 2 nights in the Cedar Island room. The room was fantastic. Absolutely breathtaking and comfortable. The restaurant was ok, the cheese curds were amazing, unfortunately the service was extremely slow. They weren?t busy at all. We had finished our appetizer and had to flag someone down to take our order. We only ate at the restaurant once during our stay because of the slow service. But overall our stay was great.
Comfortable beds and pillows and great service. Breakfast was delicious. They need more staff, but the crowd was handled well. Front desk girl (Courtney I believe?) was by herself in the restaurant bartending and serving. She rocked it though and was super friendly. Can't wait to come back - already booked again for my birthday.
I give it 4/5 stars because... We had a weekend special. We booked online. They were very understanding and accommodating when it came to switching the rooms. They had a better room available to which they moved us to without hesitation. The windows in the room was a nice touch. Giving it was December and cold and big windows, I can't be too harsh on the heat not working well. We would set the temperature to 75 (because it always read 65 degrees) but it only ever got to 66 consistently. It reached 70 at one point but it was only for about 2 hours. It was freezing in the room most of the time. The beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortably. The room itself I would rate 6/5. The weekend special included get 1 night free to which was paid for but Courtney said she would credit. It was never credited. We have attempted to call her several times and she would not pick up. We left her a voice mail and she has not returned a call. The "supper club" attached was not even close to a supper club. It had the atmosphere of a bar restaurant. None of the food was supper club worthy. The female who was hosting bingo was a good host, in general; however, the male bartender/waiter seemed a little lost. He took our wine which we had not finished, with clearly wine in the glass, and took it. When he asked if we wanted another, we said yes AND he did the same - took the glass when there was apparent wine in the glass. The walleye entree was NOT good. It tasted incredibly bland and even with a lot of tartar sauce, it didn't help. I didn't even eat 1/4 of it because is was not worth the calories. If you don't mind driving 3-5 minutes, get food elsewhere. I recommend the Thirsty Otter restaurant. Update: The credit was given, eventually, AFTER I posted this review.
