Just left the restaurant. Had the pleasure of leaving right about closing time so we were able to talk to the owners for a bit.... Very good people made us feel right at home. Not to mention the food was very good. We went hungry and couldn?t decide onanything so we got everything. Lobster Mac was the best I?ve ever had and the soups and lobster/ clam rolls were very good aswell. Can?t wait to go see them when they are on the train this summer! Great ambiance... Really get a feel for cabin life in the mountains... Puts you in the mood for your vacation. Staff is... friendly. Found this place at the end of Bear Notch Rd. We were greeted and served by extremely friendly and courteous staff. We ate at an... end table outside that was well away from others. While waiting for our food we watched them meticulously clean the other tableswhen people left...now for the good part. The food was amazing. Burgers were good but the clam strips rival the best we have hadalong the coast and their onion rings were the best I've ever had. I had the pleasure of meeting Jen and Jim today aboard the Mountaineer at Conway Scenic Railroad. Cabin Fever is temporarily... closed but they are providing the dinner service onboard the train. I was pleased beyond my wildest expectations. The food wasabsolutely amazing (rainbow trout, wild rice, carrots and asparagus/tomato soup, short ribs, fingerling potatoes), the service(Theresa was the best and God Bless her for serving soup, dinner and hot drinks onboard a jostling train without skipping a beatand getting everything to the table with ease) impeccable, and they are just fantastic folks. It was a perfect meal on abeautiful train and a great way to celebrate the start of my 40th trip around the sun. I can't wait for the restaurant toreopen so that I can enjoy the rest of the fantastic menu. If the food is even half as good as what I had today it will still bestellar.
