Proclaiming itself as ?the Biggest and Largest Chinese Restaurant in Bartow,? King Buffet is indeed that in a city that?s no... bigger than your big toe. There is nothing remarkably outstanding or unique in the buffet?s main selections, but what it lacksin originality it makes up for in the tastiness of its dishes. Notable is the restaurant?s version of egg roll, the filling ofwhich has a smoother, meatier texture than the cabbage-laden cylinders typically offered at run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurants. When available in the buffet?s dessert selection, I highly recommend trying the Chinese cakes filled with sweet black beanpaste. More pastry than cake, it is normally only available at traditional Chinese bakeries or restaurants that specialize indim sum cuisine. Sadly I used to love this spot. Last time I took the family out they charged me for my 12 year old as a adult price. Okay... understandable. Go tonight and they charged my 11 year old as adult as well??????? I had asked them why my 11 year old wascharged as a adult?? She said ohhh 11 and up adult. I told her last time I was there they said 12 and up adults???? And tothink they try to charge me extra because I was feeding my 8 month old off my plate a little bit of rice???? Employees were nice. Food was hot but old folk bland. (and I'm an old folk!) Panda Express would be better if there was one... around here I was a little put off that the price was not clear. Weekdays it is $9 but since they have crablegs on Friday itis $19 ... even if you don't eat seafood. My fault, I should have asked to be sure. Would I go back? Doubtful. Great food, great service, they are constantly refilling the buffet and always bringing out new food. Also fridays they have... crab legs again with a seafood buffet for 20 dollars per person. The crab was great while the other food was just decent nothingto brag about. Would recommend but pricey for Fridays and not great food besides the crab, also the bathrooms were not thecleanest.
