My wife and I love char-grilled oysters. One of our go-to spots didn't have them or didn't have crew to cook them, so we figured... an establishment with oysters in its name surely could produce a decent oyster. Not the case on this day. I get that restaurantsare still having staffing issues, but this wasn't a staffing issues. Two guys were in the oyster station. They were both eithertoo busy shucking oysters or chatting with customers or staff to watch the grill. Our oysters were cooked way to long. On top ofthat when you plate oysters you should probably make sure all that all oyster shells actually have an oyster on them. Two of mywife's did not. At almost $30 a dozen it's tough to not get what you pay for. I did speak with the manager on the way out. Ithought maybe by sharing the experience, possibly some improvements could be made. Not terrible, just not good overall. Location was good, at the corner of Perkins & South Acadian Thruway just off of I-10. The... building was nice inside & out. Service was subpar. The waitress was moderately articulate, did not come across as invested inher job, & was not very attentive, we had to flag her down several times even though there were not many other patrons. I hadthe shrimp/fish platter. There were two small pieces of fish that looked & tasted like previously frozen, and eightmedium/small shrimp. The waitress said that two sides came with the meal but did not say that they were $3 extra. My wife hadthe Butter Bean Plate but there were only two very small shrimp and no (0) Tasso ham in the beans. There were six in our partyand they charged 18% gratuity which completely eliminates the incentive for the waitress to be friendly, polite, andprofessional. Read more

I'll start this off with the fact that I am not big into fried food. That ebign said when in Louisiana, do as the locals... do. Was recommended to this place from a local and it did not disappoint. What is disappointing is the fact that I didn't takemore pictures for this review. I really enjoyed the oysters. So much so that I ordered 2 dozens of them. The seafood was allvery fresh and probably the best fried fish, and fried shrimp that I have had in a long time. The gumbo was also very goodhowever, I haven't had enough gumbo to be an expert. It was better than the gumbo from yesterday. Service was pretty good. Myonly complaint is that out meals didn't all come out at the same time. If you are in Baton Rouge and like fried food. Give it ashot. Read more

I have eaten at this franchise in Destin Florida, and never could get in the door in New Orleans. Who doesn?t love oysters in... the half shell? We got there just before it got too busy and the atmosphere is fun and festive. Oysters came out on ice with thesauce and lemon. These were huge. Not just large but huge. Definitely tasty and I will have to come back for somemore. Restaurant was clean and the checkered table cloth took me back to my childhood so it was kinda nostalgic. Read more
