Two words. Sit outside! It was great. Covered so no rain, cool air blowing through so very comfortable. It's like having dinner... on your back porch.... just much better food (at least with how I cook). My wife had the turkey, goat cheese, and fig sandwichwith pit beans. I had the pastrami grilled cheese with onion rings. Finished it off with a slice of carrot cake that was biggerthan my head! Great food, great service. Great experience and our waiter Jacob was so quick and helpful! The food was great and well priced. Loved the chip and pickle... appetizers you get before you order. We had never been to BRQ before. Being from North carolina, we have high expectations for barbecue. ;-) we had a sampler with... all the different needs on it and everything was delicious. The all stars from the group, if we had to pick them, were thesmoked brisket and pulled pork barbecue.The smoked brisket had great flavor, was tender, moist, and virtually melted in yourmouth. Next, we got the nachos with brisket and they were incredible! Not only was the serving size monstrous (and we are bigeaters), but also the toppings were ample, including the smoked brisket (so many restaurants skimp on the protein with nachos).We finished up with a slice of their chocolate cake, which was huge albeit not terribly dense or rich. All in all, therestaurant was superb and we highly recommend it.. we will be back when we return to Baton Rouge! Read more

Excellent place, great selection of bbq and regular menu items as well. To start off, their house chips and house pickles are... fantastic. The bbq sauces they offer all great, and should be bottled and sold. The hot sauce fried onion rings areamazing. The service was better than excellent, attentive wait staff, fast kitchen, and even offered a hot towel after themeal. I highly recommend trying this place and go often to try a variety of items.
