Menu for Spray Beach Hotel in Beach Haven, NJ

My wife and I have enjoyed staying at the Spray Beach Hotel in North Beach Haven on Long Beach Island, New Jersey for the past... FIFTY YEARS. We've always been impressed with the regular improvements to the place over the years, and the new owners recentlyrenovated the lobby and dining room with plans to completely renovate all of the rooms beginning in October 2022. We can't waitto see the latest enhancements next season! Our favorite room has always been a large King bed on the third floor withbreathtaking sunrise views from the window and balcony overlooking the dunes and ocean which is only a few meters away. We alsoget a lot of use from the fridge & microwave. At the end of the day, we always enjoy the pool and hot tub to relax and watchthe sunsets over the bay. The new owners recently added free "Cruiser" bikes, so for the first time in 50 years we didn't haveto haul our bikes there. Steve, Kim and Jamie at the front desk were always very friendly and accommodating! We especiallyappreciated their efforts to watch for a cancellation, so we were able to stay for an extra night on Friday. My husband and I have stayed here many many years and have always loved it. It was a well priced hotel right on the LBI beach.... The hotel is under new management in 2022. The prices increased dramatically, which we were okay with when making ourreservation, but the services disappeared. For $500 per night we have to take our garbage out! Really, little garbage pailsthat fill up quick so we keep carting our garbage. There is no longer daily maid service, and we have to phone the front deskfor new linens, tissue boxes, anything that would be replaced. Again, we are paying $500 / night! I called ahead to ask for alate checkout, which we?ve usually been given, even an extra hour, but we were flatly and rudely denied. The woman who answeredthe phone couldn?t be bothered with any customer service chit chat. She couldn?t wait to get off the phone. Again, you?re newmanagement, act like it. You only get one chance to make a first impression. The rooms are tired and in need of an upgrade,which again mattered less when the price was more reasonable. We were told there would be improvements coming, so they jacked upthe price without investing in the rooms. The lobby has been updated and is lovely, that?s it. It seems the overinflated pricehas discouraged vacationers because the hotel is not filled to capacity as it was in the past. Hope you guys make theimprovements you promised, and take these reviews seriously. This year was TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT. Very disappointed. My original reservation was for the Sister hotel at the Mariner Inn. Upon checking in, I met a wonderful concierge person named... Jaime. She was SO welcoming and explained that the Sister hotel was just a little different than this Ocean front hotel . Iasked her if by any chance there was an opening at the Spray Beach oceanfront hotel. Without hesitation, she looked at thecalendar and along with her colleagues, they were able to get my sister and I a terrific room in a non-noisy part of the hotel!! The stay was TERRIFIC! Their rooms are clean, and the staff cannot be more friendly! Jaime and Dawn and others continued tocheck in and make sure that our stay was pleasant and to let her know if we needed anything. The hotel offers beachchairs,boogie boards and bicycles to borrow and a wonderful restaurant on the beach with delicious food and cocktails. My onlysuggestion is the pool could have been a little cleaner and maybe a little cooler. Other than that it was absolutely a wonderfulmini vacation and will definitely be back!! Read more

Just booked a room (haven't stayed yet) but the customer service on the phone from Kim was exemplary. She was honest and guided... me toward to best possible outcome. I can't speak to the hotel itself yet but I was impressed with the time she took to takecare of me. Read more
