We had the very real pleasure of staying at The Gables while visiting from out of town. The rooms were wonderfully appointed and... very comfortable. The entire staff was warm, friendly, and gracious. Our breakfasts were delicious and abundant; I believe thatthey would satisfy even the largest of appetites! Dinner was an amazing event. The chef’s creations were fabulous! MyHoney-Roasted Heirloom Carrot starter was an amazing taste treat and the Bone-In Filet Mignon with Broccolini was outstanding! My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Mediterranean Tomato Salad starter The Grilled Berkshire Pork Chop. Although we ate inside, thegarden in the back of the property is a wonderful place for dining. A fellow diner commented that this would be the ideal spotto produce a ring and pop the question; I couldn’t have agreed more! All in all, our visit was an exceptional experience! Read more

Amazing amazing amazing. Very pleased with the service and the food. Food was 10/10 everything we ordered was delicious. Live... music (piano) , great setup and decor, very cozy and welcoming. Our waitress Erin was great, very honest about items on themenu, we had plenty of questions once we found out there were rooms upstairs to stay. She offered to give us a little tour ofthe upstairs library and even tried to show us an empty room. We will be returning here and recommending to friends and family. Read more

My fiance and I recently stayed at the Gables for a long weekend and also had dinner here. We originally fell in love with this... place 3 years ago (pre pandemic) and we were just waiting for the perfect opportunity to return again. The food, service, ambiance and atmosphere are all amazing. Steve and Sandra couldn't have been more gracious, friendly and hands on with the dayto day operations. The guest rooms were beautifully appointed, clean and so romantic. The whole place is just so whimsical andbeautiful that you feel you are in a real life fairy tale. The garden and the porch were my favorite with the hanging basketsand lush greenery and gorgeous flowers ???? ???? When we had dinner we had our family join us. We were a group of 7 celebratinga birthday and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was also top notch. I would be remiss not tomention our breakfast every morning which was fresh, delicious and on the beautiful porch with a light breeze coming off theshore. Truly a dream Thank you so much Steve and Sandra and staff. You truly made our weekend so special. Grazie. A PRESTO! Read more

$98 per person and you still have to pay more for some offerings. That's wrong. Food was good but nothing even close to being... worth the price. Warm tap water served in a glass bottle. Was not given a choice of iced tea or anything else so I guess theyjust have water. BYOB for a place like this is crazy. Can only buy bottles of wine if you want. Sat for 10 mins before speakingto a server. There are much better places on the island than this. For $98 it should be chef's choice where you get smallerplates of food that are items you can't have anywhere else. Also had to sit and sweat outside even though I made insidereservations. Just disappointed. Read more

The only reservations were 5:30, after leaving around 7:00 the place was nearly as deserted as arrived. I had a pork chop that... was served diagonally cut through adding to it's well done dryness, unsure why since the parasite in pork has been eradicated. This same pork chop that I believe gave me an encounter of food poisoning throughout the night into early the following morning.Possibly from being not busy and having a proper rotation of product. The waitress and training waiter were wonderfulthemselves, I caught wind of the waiter in training being told about the cameras. If the powers that be sit there to watch thecameras to scrutinize their staff, I think it would be wise to do something else with their time. Unfortunately I feel the staffbeing under watch added to an uncomfortable stuffiness, While attentive to service, it felt they were over attentive as if beingchaperoned, creating a feeling that certainly was not demographically suited to the laid back comfortable atmosphere that Iexperienced elsewhere through LBI during the duration of my trip. I don't believe the price reflected the quality of food oratmosphere considering choices were limited from a prefix menu, and I'm not one to put a value on food... I think the platescould have been a little less seasoned as well, It seems restaurants like to mask and disguise plates with toppings thatshouldn't be. It just seemed as if the entire place was trying to hard to make it something it wasn't. Unimpressed. Read more
