We are new to the area and love trying local restaurants. We tried King's on the suggestion of a family member and we were not... disappointed! We got the family size whole chicken box with slaw and fries. The chicken was delicious and the breading tasteddifferent than any fried chicken I've had before. The slaw was good and had just the right amount of sweetness. The seasonedfries were decent and plenty for the family. For dessert we tried the peach cobbler......again, delicious. They also make theirown sauces. We had honey mustard and hot sauce. Both were really good. So to make a short story long, we'll be returning to trysome of the other things on the menu. I'm a trucker and stopped here for the night, I walked 2 miles round-trip because I didn't want Subway or McDonald's. The ladies... that served me were both "pretty mommas" and the food would make the King himself proud. After you eat here a fried peanutbutter and banana sandwich will never be the same again! Great soul food. There is a walkup window and you can also eat inside. There is not many places that sell actual soul food here... in Tupelo. I just happened to be looking for a different place, and found this place, by lunch. I ordered fried catfish, whichcomes with hush puppies (excellent), Mac n cheese and bread. Great chicken and sides. The chicken was done perfectly and had a unique flavor. It went perfectly with the king sauce, which is... their version of honey mustard and quite tasty at that. I'm rarely impressed by Mac and Cheese but they had a great tastingversion. Also the potato salad! Amazing to find such unique flavors and little twists at such a small place.
