Let me start with this, if it were possible to rate the bartender, I'd give her 5 stars, easily. The establishment however, is... what I'm writing this review about. The bar is understaffed; so the line for drinks is 10, 15, 20 minutes of waiting for drinks,then you get to watch one person do the job of multiple people, while trying to do her job wonderfully. They don't clean up; ifyou aren't ready to clean, bus, and dry your own table, this isn't the place for you, especially when on date night, yet therewere multiple times when people had to clean up from the customers before them in order to find seating. Don't order the food,you won't get it; when ordering food, after quite a long time, I noticed the food I had ordered wasn't coming, so I waited,then when it still hadn't shown up I asked the bartender to order it again, this time I waited for a while and got tired,frustrated, and hungry; after waiting more than 45+ minutes for a cheese board, my date and I walked over to Trukt where I gotan appetizer and a full meal in 15 mins, for both of us. Here in lies the issue: if an establishment is going to offer a uniqueexperience and brand it that way, in a high-class and/or luxurious experience, the standard has been set, this visit as well asmany other people in the establishment, while I was still there, had noted to the bartender, that it did not meet expectations,nor even come close. Rooftop has a wonderful concept and bad planning and follow through. I hate to leave such a negativereview, normally, but this not one of those times. And what makes this such a bitter problem for me, is the fact the sameestablishment also runs the Velvet Buffalo; one of my favorite restaurants in Beloit. So, what did I learn at the expense of $40in decent drinks and no for the evening, just because the marketing looks nice, does not mean than it is what it will be like inreal life. Awesome rooftop bar with a great selection of cocktails served and prepared by an amazing, friendly staff.
Great spot to meet with friends! My only suggestion is to have more than one bartender!
What a wonderful venue for a celebration. The food was wonderful, bartenders friendly and polite, the outdoor deck is... comfortable. Tables were set up and all was taken care of well. If I had to book a party room this would be my choice. Read more
