I got the wedge salad and the 'colossal' crab cake. Pros - Easy Gluten free and vegetarian options. The crab cake (gluten free)... tasted good, it had old bay in it but it was not overwhelming. I guess if you like old bay (gross) you would have to ask formore. I asked the waitress since so many places around here seem to drench anything with crab in old bay, and many wait staffsay it is 'light' when the flavor is still overwhelming. My waitress was correct. I could smell it a little but the flavor wasvery mild. I appreciate the knowledge since I really do not like old bay. The salad tasted good, it had pickled eggs which weretasty. I got the dressing for the cobb instead of the sweet onion dressing that came with the wedge salad and liked it. Therestaurant is very nice inside. The view and location are great. The service was fast and friendly. No complaints there. Cons- 'colossal' crab cake is a colossal overstatement. This was a normal, if on the small size crab cake. The tartar sauce tastedlike nothing. The salad had iceberg, some bacon and an egg. Really boring for the price. The price, $32, for this wasridiculous. I expected to be blown away by a delicious crab cake and inventive salad. Nope. I make great crab cakes and my owntartar sauce. I can make a wedge salad in my sleep. These aren't that difficult to make and do well. Read more

I've visited other locations of Matt's fish camp and have always enjoyed the delicious, fresh seafood. My food this time was not... as good as in the past (I ordered the captains fried seafood platter and the scallops tasted very fishy) but the crab dip wasawesome and the others in my group enjoyed their meals. I will definitely go back again but won't order the fried seafoodplatter. Read more

Matt's fish camp lived up to all expectations! They were able to seat our party of 13 right away. We arrived at 5 because we had... such a large party. The atmosphere was casual with a upscale beach vibe. The service was prompt and very attentive. The foodwas outstanding! Calamari was tender and the lemon sauce was a nice change from the normal marinara or spicy aioli. The hushpuppies were fantastic especially with the slightly sweet cinnamon butter, they were a massive hit with everyone at our table. We ended up having 3 orders at our table. I had Matt's fish camp stew and couldn't have been more pleased. It had so muchflavor in the light tomato broth (not tomato sauce), I drank every last drop of it. I wish it came with more bread to sop up thebroth. We will be back!!! Read more

Overall not pleased with our experience. Our server greeted us relatively quickly and introduced herself and her trainee. She... was very pleasant but her trainee never smiled Throughout the entire meal. We ordered two Matt?s rum punch which were good whenwe finally got them. The bar and open air kitchen are combined and seemed to slow down service on both ends. We started with aCobb salad appetizer to split (forgot pic) but nice presentation. Ordered fried chicken which was 3 large breasts and a lobsterroll warmed. Was told the price was $29 but never checked the bill before offering my credit card to pay and was charged $32instead. Decent amount of lobster but the warmed white toast was very dry and little lettuce so ended up just eating the meat.Upgraded to French fries which were enough to share. The bill payment took entirely too long to receive and then run, first timeat this location and most likely won?t return. Also every time the servers had to attend to outside tables they would exit thruthe front doors and dirty dishes had to be walked by the front hostess stand by people waiting to be seated. Not very conduciveto a busy summer night when lots of people Crowd the front area I?m sure. SoDel usually does a better job than this. Read more

We've passed by Matt's Fish Camp all the time. We finally decided to check it out and weren't disappointed. The place is very... inviting, the people are nice and professional. The onion rings were beautifully humongous and yet still crispy. They seem tolove putting paprika in and on everything. I loved it! The New England Clam Chowder was delicious, if not traditional. My familytried the fish and chips, Cajun chicken sandwich, cod fried fish sandwich and I chose the the grilled Mahi. Everything wasdelicious. My fish came out undercooked but because the staff is so attentive they noticed just as I noticed and immediately hadit re-cooked and comped my meal without even waiting for a complaint from me. I was really impressed by their good service.Great place! Read more
